Devil Beside you is what got me into watching dramas. I loved how Mike He and Rainie Yang were able to show the pain of falling in love with someone you're not supposed to as well as the cute and goopy moments. Don't let the fact that they end up becoming step-siblings throw you off. I think that's what adds the most charm. I was honestly touched by this show...enough to buy it and watch over and over again.

I LOVE this drama. It makes you feel so many emotions all at once. It pulls at your heart strings and makes you cry all at the same time. Although there are some parts that you just wanna break the computer screen and scream out WHY!!! but then this issue resolves itself and your back to being a blubbering fool on the floor. The characters are so amazing. The actors played them outstandingly. I recommend this drama to anyone.
I love Rainie Yang and Mike He's chemistry, they are seriously one of my favorite onscreen couples!

I've read many great reviews about this drama but I guess they're giving it a lot of attention that it shouldn't have. Yes, the drama is cool but you can't possibly have high expectations because you may get disappointed.
Anyway, the story is nice and different which matters the most, the actors were great plus they had one of the most awesome chemestries out there and let's not forget the great supporting roles.
I had fun while watching this drama this is one of the Taiwanese dramas that i don't care about the language while watching it because i was so focused on the great events.
If you're hesitating about this one and haven't watched it yet then you should give it a go but don't get your hopes too high.

Story
The story wasnt really good. You could easily predict everything was going to happend. There was no deep plot. No real enemies. Even people were being mean at first had actually good inteions and turned to sweethearted friends. That really annoyed me. I just kept watching this drama, hoping for a big thing to happend, any dramatical or shocking moment...but nothing! I really feel like just wasted my time by watching it.

Acting/Cast
The Cast was okay. The only think annyoed me was this exaggerated acting, especially from the mother of the female lead. I really found her annyoing and was not convinced at all.

Music
The music was the best thing about the drama. I really enjoyed hearing the songs while watching.

Rewatching Value
As this drama is not really an exiting one, I dont think it deserves being watched again.

Overall
I know this drama is mean to be funny and not really a serious one, but still I have to say I didnt really like it. It was pretty cheesy, everything happened was very predictable, there was no deepness at all. So I think this drama is actually overrated. I give it only 6/10

Just hear me out before pressing the 'Not Helpful' button.

This drama started out very promising. I loved the whole scenario and the way they teased the main couple's relationship kept me glued to my seat. But after a while, it kind of got lost or maybe I did. I have no idea what went wrong but I found my interest disappearing into thin air all of a sudden.

The main things happened too soon and there was nothing left in the story after that. I loved Rainie and Mike's scenes together, but it wasn't enough for me. All secondary characters were dreadful and none of them were able to reignite the interest that I had developed in this show.

Mostly, I decided to put it on-hold but I was afraid it would never come off that list so I fast forwarded through all episodes. It was boring, pointless and bland. The only good thing about this drama was the Devil himself. Mostly, I would call this as a wastage of time. I believe there are much better dramas that I can give my time to.

I'm done here. Now you can either call this as 'Helpful' or 'Not Helpful'.

Despite other reviews I've read where the drama was mainly criticized I won't do the same thing. I really enjoyed this drama because it involves danger and love even from the title. The main characters, Qi Yue and Ah Mon are strongly related to their families and their love doesn't appear all of nothing and it surely won't be easy to fulfill since obstacles always appear.
On the whole, this drama was enjoying and the scenes of cuteness between this couple are memorable. :)
The storyline depicts the life of Ah Mon, which will become more and more twisted. New character will show up and it will be a little confusing at the beginning but afterwards connections can soon be made and you will be dragged even more into the action.
Themes like friendship, unshared love can be found here, too, which will embroider the story.
By wathching this drama you'll become even more romantic and if you're not that romantic that you should try and watch even a bit of it and it might change your way of seeing things when it comes to "romantism". ;)
There is a phrase Ah Mon says to his grandmother that impressed me a lot: "Whether the connection between Qi Yue and I is the one of lovers or siblings, it's not important to me, because no matter how other people see me, Qi Yue is already in my heart".

I really love this Drama, it was the first drama I saw recomended by a friend and I already watched twice. It's not one of those stories where you will cry your eyes out or be really touched, but it has some powerfull romantic scenes...
I love Ahmon (Mike He), a tipical bad boy with a good heart and mother issues. I hate the girl (don't remmenber her name), she is really dumb and annoing.
Overall I really love it, it's not excepcional but is wort to watch.

Like most Taiwanese dramas I watch, I have a love-hate relationship with this drama. On one hand I absolutely love the chemistry between Mike He and Rainie Yang but on the other hand the whole story plot is such a mess that I can't give it a high score despite my love for the main couple. I often find myself being mesmerized by Rainie's numerous charming hairstyles than paying attention to the storyline.

Overall, don't watch this drama for the plot but for light-hearted, cute chemistry between the main lead or you just might be severely disappointed.

If I remember it right, I first watched this series 6 years ago. Well, I was looking for something to watch last weekend and I happen to see my copy of this drama so I decided to watch it again. I still find it funny and amusing but I guess I’m way passed my teenage years to go gaga over cheesy-predictable storylines.

Most of the scenes and the actors’ performances are exaggerated. The plot is bearable but the acting of the characters just ruined it. Rianie Yang‘s strenuously cute, bubbly and over the top acting is very annoying! I might have found it cute 6 years ago but now it’s a pain in the eyes. Mike He‘s no different. God, I can’t for the life of me understands why I liked this guy so much before. His domineering, rich, high-maintenance, character is overrated. And the devilish grin? Ugh. It makes me want to puke out of disgust.

There’s no question with Mike and Rainie’s chemistry together. I still had those occasionally kilig moments when I watched it. I just don’t find them cute anymore. I’m not saying I won’t watch their present dramas. I would still give it a try but if by any chance their acting is still the same after so many years in the business, that’s the time I would have to say enough. I’d rather spend my valuable time with worth-watching series.

listen, this shit is mediocre, the story is unbelievable like literally. its like watching a disney movie. everything was all happy and dandy and calculated and worked out. it felt very fake..the fighting was fake, story was fake, bullying was fake, emotions were fake i mean i wasnt impressed at all. the minions dint help at all and it was a waste of cast esp for the high vocal kid who dint speak but 2 sentences in the whole 20 episodes. i will definately not watch this again. i couldve dropped it within the first 15 minutes of watching but because i have an ocd of finishing every story, i had to persevere thru my teeth. to make it worse, the video quality was horrible and there was voice overs esp when they fight which wasnt in sync.
the story was cute and had its good points like they went straight to the point no lingering stories. rainie and mike were good looking and had several kissing scenes. the last two episodes atleast felt a little real. thats about it.
seriously dont waste ur time uggggggghhh

So I don't remember exactly why I ended up watching this drama, but I was kind of torn. The idea of the plot was slightly disturbing, I mean, incest! Well...not really, but still. And I think that's what ruined it for me. I just couldn't get over that as I was watching it so, it kind of killed the whole thing. But aside from that part, if you're less sensitive to things like that, its a decent drama. It has a couple of side stories that it follows well and to the end, and the acting is decent. Its pretty average. Some parts are a bit melodramatic, but its a pretty funny drama. Plus Mike He is delicious.

"Devil Beside You" is this one story where you'll find comedy in Raine Yang wherever she is talking to herself!
The story was a typical one, I feel. Its a true fact that girls ultimately fall in love with the bad guys and the bad guys are bad on the outside but really warm and lovable from the heart. That is the basis of the story, and for me its nothing new. What new was and is still going strong among drama addicts, is the Mike He and Rainie Yang pairing and the supposed "brother-sister" relation. That was the dangerous element everywhere through out the drama when they realized their love knowing that their parents were in a relationship and if the parents got married, they'd probably become "Siblings in Love". And due to this pairing, the Taiwanese teased us with "Why Why love!". :P
The music by Rainie Yang - "Ai mei" is a sweet song and also its Piano version switches on this kind of electricity in your body when it plays through a scene! It has been one year since I watched it and some times I found myself landing upon all the interesting scenes in this drama. So my re-watch value keeps flickering. I did not quite like the acting of Tsai Pei Lin as Qing Zi. Instead, Fan Ivy (Li Xiang) was amazing as a supporting role.

Overall, its good. I watched it to study more about Taiwanese dramas, looking at the rank this drama had on the drama sites. You'll be touched by Ah Mon's heart as he slowly is shown through the drama. :)
