This was really cute and fun. I felt like I learned new things about BLACKPINK and it wasn't boring like usual Documentaries. I really had fun watching it. Also, I finally had a profile pic that I like on Netflix. I love how hardworking them are and I hope they don't focus on the haters or care about what they but focus on the people who love and support them. I hope they stay together for a really long time. Anyway looking forward to Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosè's solos and Snowdrop.

They are beautiful and hardworking ladies BLINKS let's keep on supporting them

Don’t miss

The film can be divided in 2 halfs. The first one tells the story of these 4 girls pursuing their dreams. Told separately by each member of the team,
The second, is the part we know, debut and world success, but seen from their point of view.
All time showing us that they are persons, not superstars, having good days and sometimes feeling down (like everybody else).
As I commented recently, is a very intimate and honest film and not only for K-Pop fans. This is beyond K-Pop. This is a beautiful story of life.

A must see.

Enjoyable for us who know nothing about BlackPink...

This was really sweet, well made, well balanced and entertaining to watch.

I am not the type to know anything about music let alone groups and had honestly mostly heard about BlackPink on feeds and about Jisoo as the costar in snowdrop... so I am what you may call a complete unbiased nub to this, and yes I really enjoyed this documentary.

The girls are adorable, they are extremely different and as they say complement each other well, we get a very short glimpse in to the girls personal life, just enough to understand where they are coming from but not to much to feel burdened with unnecessary or uncomfortable personal stuff.., they show both the hard work behind the scenes as well as the rewards from them. The importance of personal space as well as helping each other out and it is just lovely,

I think I go a slight crush on Rosé I love her voice, her talent as well as what we got to see of her introverted personality and she is now my favorite and I want to hear more of her, has she gone solo?

Jenny had this great granny personality and Jisoo seemed cool but was the one we got to know the least and Lisa was just this cute energy pill that bursted up the screen.

All in all definitely fun to watch and a documentary I recommend to all who do not hate pop.

I believe this documentary can bring the right attention to the group. I'm not a fan of theirs but I appreciate their songs and I find them all very nice.
I had never stopped to read their stories or get interested in their life before debuting. All have had different paths that have led them to be friends, to be a good group.
I recommend the film to understand how their success is not taken for granted, how they are committed and what they have.

Journey of 4 girls from 4 different countries that came together to achieve their dreams.

As a blink myself, this documentary was an emotional ride for me. I've known them for about 2 years and this was the first time I saw them speaking up about their trainee days, their hobbies and what they expect as musicians. Although I couldn't be with them through their debut days, this documentary took me back to their memories that were candid and fun.
Even if you don't stan them, you can watch this documentary as this is also the reality of every kpop groups. They train hard from a very young age with a hope that they can shine as artists. They train vigorously and undergo such harsh training. Some idols even starve themselves to fit the beauty standards, while some idols gets insulted so much during their trainee days. They are kept under surveillance 24/7 and the agencies are very much focused on their image. The reality of idols is very different from what you see.
This documentary has focused in their trainee days where they were evaluated and had to undergo through 5/6 years of training to become an idol. This documentary also shows what they feel about being a kpop idol and what they dream of. The most heartwarming scene for me was the last part where they talk as normal person about their dremas and their future. You should give this documentary a try if you are interested about Kpop idols.

They never cease to excite us

The film tells the story of each one individually, but the one of them all together,
it's always fun to get to know both the person behind the voice
And this is an opportunity to peek behind the scenes
They always stay real with themselves
The fun and joy they give to the viewers is unbelievable
I congratulate them on continuing to be who they are
And will continue to bring happiness into our lives
Jiso is for me a good fairy that always calms me down
Lisa always makes me laugh, even when I'm sad
Rosa never stops moving a signal every time again
Jenny is charming and stunning and makes Blackpink who they are

Blackpink in your area! ??

With the online YouTube concert only hours away I thought I'd better get round to watching this. If you're a Blink like me or not - this a great documentary. These girls worked so hard and deserve every success.
The documentary follows them from their beginnings from how they were discovered, their trainee years through to their 2019 world tour.
There are individual interviews with each of the girls and their chemistry and love for each other shines through. They complement each other perfectly.
Such an amazing achievement and they are all in their early 20's - the world is their oyster!

Must watch

It's obvious the people who watch this documentary are mostly blinks, but it really opens up to a wide audience. The documentary isn't about them flexing their achievements but it's more on the emotional side, and not boring at all.

If you're a hard-core blink you'd probably know most of these stuff but there are many things you haven't seen, such as their trainee life or Jisoo talking about burning the dorm.
For casual blinks/listeners, this documentary really lets you know more about BLACKPINK and dives a lot into their personality, you'll see their journey as kids all the way until now.
And people who've heard about Kpop and BLACKPINK, I would really recommend watching this because it'll be an entertaining experience.

And also because BLACKPINK is just amazing queens how can you not love them.

Interesting: For non-Blinks as well

Let me start this off with one pretty important statement: I'm not a Blink. I listen to Kpop in general and also to at least some of BLACKPINK's music, but I'm not a Blink. I watched this documentary mainly because it was recommended to me by Netflix and I decided to just watch it, because 1. I'm interested in what's going on behind the scenes in Kpop, though I definitely don't have enough time to watch much content about it and 2. I like the girls and have lots of respect for them, so I was interested in their point of view of their story.

I liked that the documentary was pretty much in two parts, one about the members themselves and the other about their story as trainees and as a group. I was surprised and found it refreshing how open they were about their training period and the difficulties of that kind of lifestyle, especially considering that this was intended for a lot of people, Blinks and non-Blinks as well, to see. I would have expected them to tone down the shadow-sides much more, I'm pretty sure they were anyways.
My takeaways from the documentary are that I do like them and their music, and that there is much more to their story than I've known: I did not know about their relatively long training periods (most groups I know them had trained for about 3-4 years with the occasional longer or shorter periods, everyone having trained for at least 4 years was a bit surprising to me), and I did not know about injuries and general health, which honestly explains the /scandal/ from a couple years ago (which I honestly did not care about... The so-called scandal, I mean)

TLDR: Some interesting information for non-Blinks who may or may not listen to Kpop in general, not exactly a must-watch but still worth a watch

So proud of BLACKPINK

This review may be bias since i’m a blink. But i had friends who weren’t kpop fans (at that time) watched this and they loved it. After watching this, they became a fan of BLACKPINK. As a blink, i’m so proud of them and their journey to get where they are now was touching. I liked how each member got to explain their journey and friendship. In my opinion, they have the best & strongest friendship in a kpop. Also, i loved each member was able to talk in the language they feel most comfortable in. I’m so glad lisa got to explain her story in thai. I loved this documentary so so much. I rewatched this so many times lol. I think this is a great way to start if you want to know about them or their story. I would recommend to anyone who is interested in kpop or BLACKPINK.

Just close your eyes and feel the emotion

Blackpink is a special Kpop group. I've got into Kpop since 2009. There're so many memories as a fan of Kpop. I can say as a Kpop fan, I've been through a lot. You can not understand every angles of this film if you're not a Kpop fan. Easily for someone who do not know what Kpop is and why every Kpop group has their own colors, why they act cute with their fans, and what K-culture is_ those judge and think this is a boring Doc. Ok if you want to know more about Kpop, I think it's a little too late now (you should have known Kpop 10 years ago at least), but it's fine, keep searching and learning Kpop then when you're good at it you can come back here and watch this Doc again I guarantee you can find the truth how interesting it is. As an ordinary audience, I can not say this is a excellent Doc film, but I'm happy that I'm a Blackpink fan and I watched this with an automatic smile on my face. I'm so so proud. Blackpink've won many awards but they already won a most precious cup, it's all their fans hearts and mine is one of them

I expected this documentary to present a happy and squeaky-clean spin on Blackpink's rapid rise to international success. While it is still happy and squeaky-clean in many regards, I'm impressed that the four members spoke so candidly about the difficulties of stardom- in reality, a brutal and hard-won struggle for survival with long training hours and the necessity of having your fellow trainees and friends eliminated from the competition. This healthy dose of realism aside, it was pleasant hearing the members talking about their personal stories before entering the industry (Pajama News!) and seeing their day to day interactions, though some of these felt a tad too scripted. Overall, a documentary that increased my admiration for Blackpink substantially.
