A fun but also emotional ride!

SWWT is a supernatural/romance/comedy drama that is rich in emotions. It's definitely not scary, rather it's fun, lovely and also emotional. I laughed a lot, but I teared up just as much too, especially since I grew on the characters, which are all so different.

PLOT
The story is about college student Stone who is supposed to die but his guide (grim reaper/ferrywoman/whatever) pushes his soul back into his body and thus saves his life. Which she actually wasn't allowed to do, so her punishment is to guide 10 lost ghosts to the afterlife in the next 50 days. Our ML, because of this remarkable experience, is now able to see ghosts and helps FL with her task, pulling his friends from his supernatural club along.

STORY
The story was very interesting. So we have a main plot with some twists about the Main Leads, which I absolutely loved. And then there is nearly in every 2nd episode a story about a ghost whom they need to guide. And this was very emotional at times. Most ghost stories were very touching. I also appreciate the issues they pointed out with them. This is a drama about friendship, love, youth and parting, packed in comedy and fantasy.

CHARACTERS
The characters were all individual and very different from each other, and that's exactly the reason I got attached to them so fast. The friendship between the characters of the supernatural club was very nice to watch. I was impressed how close they were to each other and how, despite the comedic elements, they still seemed pretty realistic.

There is the ML Stone, who seems goofy, outgoing and fun. Then there is Zuo Liang, MLs best friend who is an anime fan and hygiene freak and just as crazy as ML. Pei An, who is basically the only normal one among them. Jing Fang, her best friend, who also likes animes and talks in a very soft voice, yet is very strong. Ying Chen who seems like a shy guy but is very strong physically and kind too. And our mysterious FL Xiao Lu of course, the guide to the afterlife, who is kind and courageous (she's alone with that among them lol).

Then there are the black and white afterlife guides, who I also liked a lot! They were also fun to watch! :) I wish they showed us more of them since I found their story very interetsing too. I wish they would make another season just about their story, I'd definitely watch it!

ACTING
I was actually impressed by the acting, especially from the ML. The comedy was definitely a main genre here and they choose over the top acting (ott) for it. And it was surprisingly very well done (for me). I laughed so much at their behavior, the frightened screams, their expressions etc. It was perfect for me, and lovely. On the other hand: the emotional scenes were just as well done. They put a clear line between it, and that's what I liked.

MUSIC
The music made the emotional scenes even more emotional. I absolutely loved the OST they used (https://youtu.be/NeNq5RFYubc). It is such an extremely beautiful song and the opening clip was pretty cool in general, I never skipped it. Even the background music was noticeably awesome and fitting.^^

CRITIC
Even tho I loved the story and characters as well as the acting, I felt like something was missing with the romance. Maybe they should have shown us more scenes to get the feeling of it more. I enjoyed the drama nevertheless.

ENDING
The ending was both happy and sad in a way (in my opinion). I loved how they closed the circle tho (or how its called, haha).

ALL IN ALL
I loved the drama a lot. I laughed, I teared up, and I was interested through the whole drama without wanting to skip anything. I loved the comedy as well as the emotional scenes - and also the romance (main and secondary couple). I got attached to the characters, and I'm sad the drama is over. I enjoyed. <3

Some supernatural elements, but the story offers a light-hearted take on serious issues

A supernatural-themed series with little to no actual horror. There are lighthearted and comedic moments, but the series has a story that can be taken seriously too.

Xiao Lu, a ghost whose duty is to take the souls of those who have just died to the netherworld, intervenes and saves Stone when he is supposed to die. As a result of her transgression, she has to guide a certain number of souls to reincarnation so as to make amends. From here, the series can be divided into segments of different ghosts. Some of the ghosts' stories are more striking than others, like the one about bullying and depression leading to suicide and the LGBTQ-themed one involving a young man who enjoys cross-dressing (I hope I'm not getting it wrong here as I'm not sure whether the character identifies as a female an dresses in female clothes or identifies as male but likes wearing female clothes). There are also some interesting twists in the story involving Xiao Lu and Stone though the twists may not be entirely convincing.

This is quite a fun and entertaining series. There is humor, but don't expect a nonsensical horror-comedy (whether it is your cup of tea or not). It can also be serious and moving at some points, but these are nicely balanced with the more light-hearted moments, so you don't really get a series that will make you cry episode after episode.

The main characters are mostly likable. Interestingly, I did not find the character of Stone likable at first because of how silly he seems, but the character is like a person one grows to appreciate upon knowing him better. Ultimately, the series is not really heavy on supernatural elements despite what it may seem at first, it is more a story about love, friendship and life/death than about the supernatural without being excessively sentimental.

Light-hearted comedy..not actually a horror drama.

Loved this drama. My first Taiwanese Drama 😊😁 enjoyed it.. not very logical, light-hearted... The story unveils the female protagonist in a beautiful way.. technically she's the female version of Goblin in Korean Drama minus the 1000 year wait period. I kinda didn't like the 2nd female lead or the new love interest of the drama's male lead (she's always just looking for the best options available dsnt really like any1 as such). Kinda felt bad for 2nd male lead and the white-gown grrim reaper.

Chun Hong/æŽȘ矀钧...inoubliable.
