Time and Him Are Just Right (2022)

Dang...it was a pretty good run until...

I picked this drama up randomly since I saw it on Youtube and just wanted something nice, sweet, and easygoing. After just a brief look at the reviews, I decided to take a chance on it. From what I saw, everyone said this was such a good, underrated drama and the only reason why it wasn't popular was because of a lesser known cast. So I was all for it and I was really enjoying the episodes honestly. Some of it didn't really make sense but I didn't mind, as long as our little group was having their enjoyable, happy high school days. This drama reminded me a lot of When I Fly Towards You, which I loved so much and so I was very much enjoying this drama as well. That is, until now when I decided to write this review. We'll see how the rest of this drama goes but I reached the point of the drama where Lin Xi is being held back a year because randomly, her father got injured from the people from the car accident. I have a huge issue with this and it just feels so unnecessary for this to happen. I'm not sure why they decided to go this route but I hope it makes sense when I continue watching. If they were going to go this route, I feel like they should have fleshed out the accident story a lot of more and hinted to these troubles prior to doing this. So as of now, I have a bad taste in my mouth from this drama and hence the 7/10 score since I was thoroughly enjoying it before. We'll see if it gets better but I don't have high hopes. Also it's episode 17/25 and our main couple is STILL not together? It's giving draggy at this point. Anyways, I'll be back after I finish this drama, if I finish this drama. Bye for now!

UPDATE (beware of spoilers):
I finally finished watching and man, those last 9 episodes were honestly a struggle to get through, even if I was 2x speeding most of the way through. I feel like after they graduated high school, it went downhill. The misunderstandings were dumb, I really hated seeing the second couple and felt like it dragged on way too long, and even though I loved Qin Kai, I can't believe they kept the useless love triangle go on for so long. Honestly, I almost would've preferred to see our FL together with Qin Kai, I feel like their love story had more connection than our main couple. Yeah so overall, I'm quite disappointed and I'm glad I'm done so I can move on to another drama.

UPDATE 2:
OMG. BUT. I did forget to add that I love that this drama decided to sneak some subtle LGBTQ themes in there. Our couple is so cute and even though, it wasn't fully confirmed, I think we all know what really happened. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see it develop completely but the insinuation is there. Hopefully this has a snowball effect for future dramas.

One of the best youth drama!

This one easily became one of my favorites. I like all the characters, especially the main leads. The build-up to the romance of the main leads is so good because it was slow-burn and more realistic compared to other youth dramas. This is your typical friends-to-lovers trope but I found myself getting diabetes from their interactions because their chemistry is just SO GOOD. Plusss they are all so good-looking.

If I were to pick a favorite character, it would definitely be Ji Jun Xing (male lead). Because not only is he a very good friend, he also is very loyal to the female lead. She fell first, but he fell harder haha. He definitely set the bar so high when it comes to being the ideal boyfriend because he has the personality of a golden retriever. The female lead is also not your typical dumb girl like most youth dramas portray. Finally, a very strong-willed, kind, and smart female lead. She loves her family so much. I cried for her when she wasn't able to get into college the same day with her friends and has to stay behind to repeat a year. She is so strong because if it were me, I would be so devastated. No wonder the male lead fell for her.

I like how the plot progresses where the setting started in highschool, and then proceeded to college and then workplace setting. It gives you this sense of anticipation to every episode. I gave a 9.5 for the story because there were some inconsistencies in the plot like how the male lead's passion for computer programming wasn't highlighted more. Part of the plot was when he rejected the offer to be in business school to be a computer programmer. But in the end, he ended up starting a business. There were also some misunderstandings on the way, and although I'm a bit annoyed with it, I just brush it off because I would probably react worse if I were in the same position haha. Good thing it didn't drag for too long and we got a very happy and satisfying ending.

These were just minor things to point out if I were to go on the technical side. However, overall this drama is definitely a 10/10!!! I still watch the clips from my favorite scenes because it's hard to find another gem like this, and I'm so sad I've finished watching it.

almost missed a gem

I'm not gonna lie I initially couldn't watch past the first episode BUT... two days ago I decided to try again and oh my goodness did I almost miss out on a GEM. Binged the entire show in two days one of the best modern youth dramas to exist, it is at level with when I fly towards you. I rarely give modern cdramas a 10/10 so this being one of the 10s means it's truly worth a watch. The show through and through had basically no dull moments. The entire show is so sweet, youthful, and joy-inducing. Both the ML and FL (this is kinda random) have really satisfying voices they are legit a match made in heaven. I loveeee this show so much. HIGHLY recommend you definitely won't regret it. And I have extremely high standards for my cdramas so this is a must-watch.

Could have been shorter

This was a great high school drama, like the ones that made you feel like you wanted to be in high school again. I love the friendships in this story, it made the show enjoyable and easy to watch. There was a second male lead, but he wasn't annoying. The leads had a healthy relationship, and the friendships in this story were just the icing on the cake. And in the end, I really did for the characters, but that being said I did not like the structure of the show.
I personally like stories that have a plot throughout the show and the conflict is presented midpoint and so on. But in this show, they resolved the main conflict of the show at the midpoint of the series. And after that, it just felt like a bunch of filler episodes. I think this series would have been better if was about 12 to 18 episodes long. I thought it was too long, not to say that it dragged, but you could tell the writer was just adding things in to fit the episode requirement. It was still a good show, but it had a bunch of subplots, which I can't say I enjoyed too much. About every 6 episodes or so was a different subplot, if you enjoy shows like these you'll probably like this one. But I prefer a show with continuity rather than a series that is broken up. It felt like a compilation of high school stories, which is not a bad thing it is just not for me.
I will say after a while I lost interest in the main couple and started liking the second couple and the boy best friends better. The only regret I have with this show is that they did not expand on the storyline of the boy best friends. I know this is due to censorship laws in China, but their story could have been great.
Overall if you want to watch a few stories of high school figuring it out while laughing along the way, this would be the series for you.

It was SO CUTE

I will say this, it did have some unnecessary things that barely got an explanation.

First, why did Lin Xis dad suddenly get stabbed making her stay back a year in HS? They showed NO issues of her brothers murderer being ANYWHERE near them. This was so confusing and he just ended up getting arrested... but like why did it happen?

Two, when they met the senior at the university (the drama girlie) HOW did she not recognize Lin Xi? It made it seem like they were strangers and she was just this girl that Ji Jun Xing was supposedly in a relationship with... Like, I wouldve assumed they wouldve became friends since they met the year prior and Ji Jun Xing was friends with her.

Also, why did they have so many side characters liking the mains? Song Lin Xue, who had a crush on Ji Jun Xing since they were kids, the classmate that had a vendetta against Lin Xi because she was better than her academically and Ji Jun Xing was friends with her, and Qin Kai liking Lin Xi. Like, thats so many and for what? I feel like one or MAX two wouldve been fine.

Fourth, Chen Mo and Gao Yun Lang were dating right? Or at least they had a crush on each other? Or Chen Mo did? It gave those vibes but it was never confirmed...

But, despite those weird situations, the show is actually really good and so cute. I thought their relationship was so cute. No matter what situation got in between them theyd always find a way back to each other. Its definitely a slow burn, but I think it made sense that it was a slow burn. Lin Xi had the fact that her brothers heart got donated to Ji Jun Xing on her mind all the time, so she wasnt focused on dating him because she saw him as a brother/friend. Of course feelings developed as Ji Jun Xing stopped being a closed off loner freak. But it was also cute in terms that all 6 of them became close friends. In the beginning it jusg seemed like Ji Jun Xing and Xie Ang were best friends, Chen Mo and Gao Yun Lang were best friends, and Lin Xi and Jiang Yi Mian became best friends, but to each other they were just classmates. Then they became close and stayed close for years to come. It was just a very heartwarming drama. I loved it!

Confortevole e confortante

Ogni tanto ci vuole un drama leggero, senza melodrammi, o personaggi troppo problematici che devono sormontare prove incredibili per sopravvivere o avere successo, a volte non ci servono colpi di scena, creature magiche o triangoli amorosi....a volte cerchiamo solo un drama carino, semplice, piacevole da vedere ma che non impegni più di tanto la nostra mente o ci coinvolga troppo, è sufficiente ci metta di buon umore e ci intrattenga e questo è quel tipo di drama. Ambientato per lo più alle superiori segue alcuni amici mentre studiano, scherzano, si innamorano per la prima volta, bisticciano , fanno pace....ma la coppia resta salda dall'inizio alla fine senza cediment, sopratuttto lui, lei ad un certo punto fa la sciocca dubitando di lui, giusto perchè gli sceneggiatori dovevano riempire 24 puntate e almeno un misunderstanding stupido dovevano metterlo.
Si parla di sport, scuola, amore, amicizia, insomma un classico teen drama senza grandi scossoni ma fatto bene con personaggi simpatici, tutti. Anche gli adulti, i genitori gli insegnanti sono tutte figure positive, se ci si impegna tutto viene risolto, questo è un drama veramente ottimista e a volte ci vuole. Non dico non si parli anche di temi seri in un paio di punti e dopo la puntata 16 allungano il brodo per niente....ma nel complesso veramente un drama piacevole, non straordinario, ma veramente confortante.

Quá đáng yêu, quá hạnh phúc, vitamin yêu đời.

Uiiii chưa bao giờ mình thấy một bộ phim thanh xuân vườn trường, từ đồng phục đến áo cưới lại hay như thế này. Phim có 25 tập thôi, tình tiết nhanh, siêu bánh cuốn ?

Điều mình ấn tượng nhất ở đây là visual của hai nam nữ chính siêu cưng, siêu hợp nhau làm sao. Phim không có những cảnh cuồng nhiệt nhưng chỉ cần hai bạn tựa vào nhau, nũng nịu, cọ má nhau thôi là trái tim bé bỏng của mình rung động liên hồi rồi. Hai bạn có tướng phu thê dã mannnn. Bạn nam chính có nhan sắc cực kỳ đáng yêu nhưng lại vô cùng nam tính và đặc biệt còn siêu cao nữa chứ. Nữ chính hồi học sinh cấp ba tạo hình có hơi phong ấn nhan sắc nhưng vẻ đẹp của bạn cực kì hợp bối cảnh thanh xuân vườn trường này .

Mình rất thích mqh trong phim, cực kỳ tươi sáng và không hề độc hại một chút nào. Thanh xuân ai chẳng mong có một nhóm bạn nhiệt huyết như nhóm bạn cửa đông kia và đặc biệt có một anh người yêu dịu dàng mến thương như Quý Quân Hành. Nhóm bạn vì nhau học tập, vì nhau xây dựng ước mơ và tương lai bên nhau.

Phim cực kỳ đáng yêu, xem xong mà cảm giác yêu đời thật sự. Một bộ phim ngắn thích hợp cho những ngày dài mệt mỏi.

Phim còn có hint Vân Lãng và Trần Mặc nữa chứ. Lúc hai bạn đúm nhau thui là toyy nghi lắm dòi. Phim không show hẳn ra nhưng lại có những hint như đêm Vân Lãng say rồi hai bạn hạnh phúc sống với nhau bên Anh nữa.

Điểm trừ nhẹ là cặp Miên Miên và Tạ Ngang mệt wa, hai tập cuối mình tua hoài :)))

OMG!! this drama is worth your time..honestly this is the best high-school drama ever..the cast, the music, the story EVERYTHING is just so perfect..the love story is the best..like THE BEST!! I recommend this drama..in my opinion ITS SUPER GOOD!!♡♡
the acting is just so real..basically it story started between the main leads was becoming one of em wanted to be friends with the other main lead..the main lead (female) did hilarious stuff to be the other main lead 's friend and that's the best thing..rest everything is just so damn perfect..this drama has all the emotions..^_^

Cute, feel good with promising actors

Une très jolie romance, simple, sans mélo, entre deux ados qui grandissent et deviennent adultes, entourés de leurs amis.

C'est très bien joué, par de jeunes acteurs que j'espère revoir très vite sur les écrans, réalisé de façon efficace, sans longueurs ou redites, et accompagné d'OST agréables.

Je conseille cette série à tous. Vous passerez un excellent moment, feel-good et apaisant. J'aime beaucoup la fin (qui pour une fois, ne s'arrête pas à la demande en mariage ou à la cérémonie).

Je la regarderai sans doute à nouveau, quand j'aurai besoin d'un peu de douceur ❤❤❤ ?

Bom início, final decepcionante

Estou escrevendo essa resenha pros meus amigos brasileiros, já que a maioria das reviews aqui estão em inglês.
Eu estava bem empolgada no início porque achei que ia ter a mesma vibe de When I Fly Towards You (Quando Voo em sua direção) que é um dos meus doramas preferidos e tem muito sucesso em executar bem esse estilo de plot. Contudo, nesse drama aqui o final foi decepcionante por conta do roteiro que tentou a todo custo emburrecer os personagens.
Sobre o plot: A protagonista vai atrás do nosso protagonista por pensar que ele tinha recebido o transplante do coração do seu irmão. Por conta disso, desde o início ela insistiu em fazer amizade com ele, que se apresentou relutante por conta da estranheza da situação, mas pouco a pouco foi se encantando por ela.
Primeiramente: O casal principal é muito fofo, isso não posso negar. A química deles é muito boa e é bem perceptível que eles são "almas gêmeas".
Segundamente: Ambos os protagonistas são muito gostáveis. O Ji Jun Xing é simplesmente maravilhoso do início ao fim. Quanto à Lin Xi, se apresentou como uma personagem muito doce e madura, porém os roteiristas, em determinado momento mais pro fim do drama, começaram a fazer ela tomar decisões estúpidas e totalmente fora do estilo da personagem.
No geral: O casal demora muitoooo pra ficar junto. Sendo 25 episódios, se prepare pra eles só assumirem um relacionamento lá pelo episódio 20. Isso se torna muito frustrante já lá no meio da série porque é extremamente óbvio que eles se gostam e o arco do relacionamento à distância não fez sentido nenhum com todos aqueles mal entendidos.
Os personagens também tem um grupo de amigos que no início era okay, mas que ao longo da série foi ficando mais e mais insuportável ao ponto de eu não aguentar mais. A série tenta retratar a amizade deles como sendo inseparável e "wholesome" mas falha miseravelmente, principalmente ao se tratar do casal secundário que é extremamente irritante e exala relacionamento tóxico.
Apesar de não ter sido um drama dos mais longos, é cheio de enredos desnecessários. A única coisa que me fez assistir até o fim foi o tempo de tela dos protagonistas que eram um casal simplesmente adorável (e mesmo assim faltou tempo pra eles).
Minha conclusão é: não é muito ruim nem muito bom - é mediano.
