Most, best, greatest, worst. MDL has taught me to fear these words. Anytime someone posts a list or makes a comment with one of these words in it, you are sure to be met with fierce opposition, most often coupled with the comment "What about (insert name of actor/drama/scene/movie/place), you forgot about them!!" Which only leaves me to wonder, at what point does a person become an authority on the subject? At 10 dramas? 50 dramas? 100?? I am not sure exactly when you can start using these words with impunity, but I do know that at 36 dramas, I am not there yet. Certainly, I can speak with authority on dramas with lay people, people who have yet to be entranced by this world of cliches and extremely good looking people like the rest of us have.

But here at MDL, you learn very quickly that there is always someone who has seen more than you have, who knows more than you do. That's not to say that people shouldn't make lists, shouldn't try to share their love with the rest of us. Most, best, greatest, worst; these terms are all subjective by nature anyway. If I were to come across someone who had seen the same 36 dramas I had, our opinions would be different on what makes each one great. What I find sexy and romantic someone else might find cheesy and ridiculous. Keeping in mind that I would never suggest that my love were inherently better than yours, I offer up a look at the different kinds of kisses I have come across and invite you to share some of your own insights and favorites.

First kisses are wondrous things, in real life and in drama life. Whether you have painfully slogged through 15 episodes waiting for the main couple to get their act together and just admit they are into each other, or it's happening in the first episode, there is a level of excitement whenever a couple's lips meet for the first time that makes the entire thing so special.

This is one of my all-time favorite first kisses! I really did love this drama a lot, even if it did tear my heart out in the end and make me wish that polygamy were a viable option for kdramas. There is something about the sweetness in the kiss and how exciting it was for them, being that it was their very first kiss ever. Whenever thinking about good kisses in dramaland, this one always comes to mind, and of all of the dramas I have seen, this one had some of the best, most passionate (and sometimes downright dirty!) kisses.

The first kiss in this clip is the one I am talking about here. I've only watched 2 Lee Seung Gi dramas as of right now, but they have both taught me one thing: Lee Seung Gi is an AMAZING kisser! This is the kiss that even inspired me to write this article, it was just so sweet and completely worth the 11 episode wait!

I had originally wanted to use Love Rain in the adorable kiss section, with the sneak attack window kiss. But then I realized I had inadvertently used two Lee Seung Gi kisses in the first kiss section, and that didn't seem fair to all of the other great kisses. This one isn't particularly romantic, but it is giggle-inspiring with how frustrated Jang Geun Suk was about it.

Is there anything worse in a drama than falling in love with a storyline and characters, and right when it gets to the good part, it's like watching someone make out with an extremely attractive brick wall? Certainly there are worse things (death, betrayal, unjust endings, etc.), but for some reason, it's the brick wall that leaves me feeling the most cheated. Korean Standards of adult content and American standards are not the same, and I can make an effort to understand that. I can also try to understand that they want to stay true to characterization, in that someone who has never been kissed before wouldn't be proficient at it right from the get-go. But sometimes it is just so irritating to come across a couple with such potential, just to feel nothing when things finally start happening to them.

Park Yoo Hwan needs to ask his older brother (Yoochun) for tips on how to be a better kisser! Of all of the dramas I have watched, this one had the most disappointing kisses in it. I can understand why Seung Yeon (Go Eun Ah) just stood there like a lump; she was a tomboy and probably hadn't had much experience with boys. But Woo Hyun (Yoohwan) had no such excuse. One of the plot points in the show is Woo Hyun's ex getting in the way, and then eventually coming out that they had lived together, which would suggest a very serious relationship. This brick wall business is just unacceptable!

With this one, I honestly am not sure exactly why this one got picked over Playful Kiss, the other drama I had wanted to put in this section. If it's because I just wasn't crazy about the story, the inflated expectations of kiss scenes in a show with "romance" in the title, or if the leads were just huge, major duds when it came to kissing I am not one hundred percent sure. But either way, none of the kisses in this dramas are very awe-inspiring. In fact, all of them make it look like he is trying to devour her face. And not in a good way. There's also a lesson to be learned here: Never drink and then plant a huge one on your girlfriend in front of her father. It's weird.

Lee Min Ho's fans, put down your torches and pitchforks! I absolutely adore LMH and every one of his dramas that I have watched, including BBF. But my adoration of him doesn't excuse the bad kissing in this scene. Again, I can understand that high school kids probably aren't the best kissers, so it could be seen as unbelievable for them to kiss remarkably well. But in a show that has suicidal students, crazy friends who will make you think you were date raped, rich chaebols whisking random poor girls to resort islands, mobster sons, kidnapping and attempted murder, arranged marriages, evil mothers and amnesia, is believability really all that important to the writers?

These kisses may just be my favorite of the four. Sure, first kisses are highly anticipated and passionate kisses are always nice. But there is something about the adorable kiss that just screams comfort to me. The couple is comfortable enough with each other to give us these cutesy moments to treasure long after the drama is over.

The buckets of tears that I cried while watching this show are absolutely ridiculous. The buckets of tears the actors cried is enough to have me worrying over their hydration needs. You'd have to drink a lot of water to produce so many tears! But that's what is so great about this kiss. The world is crumbling down around them but that they can still have a moment like this is really special.

I couldn't find a clip that actually showed the kiss, but since I am already kind of cheating here, it's OK. It's their first kiss, so it's lacking that whole comfort level I mentioned earlier. But the reaction on this one is so great, it earned its spot here. The brief moment of "Did that really just happen?" before Eun Seol whipped out her fists cracks me up every time.

This is technically two scenes in the same episode, but they are both needed to get the full impact of the real kiss. The trouble with the hats and how new and innocent the two are combined to make this scene really special.

I think these kisses stand enough on their own without a description. The longer the wait for gratification, the better the kiss typically is.

This kiss was probably my most anticipated of all of the kdrama kisses that I have watched. Goong was so incredibly long and drawn out, you just wanted the both of them to stop being stupid long enough to get in a kiss that really meant something. The first time I watched this kiss and Shin asks her to stay, I totally broke down crying.

(Skip to 50 seconds for the cola kiss) The intention here was not to use the same actor more than once. But of the 36 dramas I have watched, 6 of them were Yoon Eun Hye dramas, so I guess that was bound to happen. I had seen the coke scene on several best kiss lists before I had even watched the drama. Contextually though, the kiss is so much better! The tentative line she says about whether he is pretending or not, the way he teases her about it being her second kiss, all of it is so much sweeter when you know the ridiculousness the two have put each other through.

[Skip to 3:09 for the last kiss.] The kisses in this drama, all of them, were absolutely spectacular! The surprised look on his face when she kisses him the elevator, the kiss where she makes up a story about the tie, the spaghetti kiss, the car kiss, the tip toe kiss. I can remember them all word for word, I have re-watched this drama so many times. The actors have such amazing chemistry it is ridiculous. But the best kiss is definitely the one at the end, when you think all is lost and that the heroine and hero will never get their happy ending. Never have happier tears ever been cried then while watching this scene.

So, there you have it, some of my more memorable drama kisses! Are there better kisses out there? Of course! Are there worse? Sadly, yes. But that's why I live my life from drama to drama, constantly looking for the next best kiss. What dramas do you think have the best kisses? I definitely want to make sure to add them to my list!
