It’s about time that we get our cast for the Korean remake of LIAR GAME. It’s been announced that Lee Sang YoonKim So Eun, and Shin Sung Rok are in talks to headline the upcoming tvN psychological thriller. Confirmation news will be nothing but a formality.

Kim So Eun is expected to play the role of a naïve girl who falls prey to the dangerous swindling game with its literal name “Liar Game”. Lee Sang Yoon will be her secret weapon to win this game since he was a famous swindler with psychology degree; he will help her as they slowly advance through the liar game. Shin Sung Rok will be the mastermind behind the game; he will be channeling all the threads to make all the contestants show the ugly part of their personalities.

Overall, it’s a nice line-up but am I the only one who thinks that Shin Sung Rok would’ve been better as the main lead? But anyway, he is also well-suited for a villain’s role. However, I seriously doubt that anyone can surpass Matsuda Shota’s flawless performance as Akiyama. He was so dark, so tense and so smart that you can’t imagine Liar Game without him. But at the end of the day, we all hope that this remake won’t be another failure. It will be only 10 episodes long so it’s a relief that no fillers will be inserted in this.

Liar Game will follow My Secret Hotel starting October the 13th on tvN.
