Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
New still cuts of main lead Go Doo Shim from "Curtain Call" was revealed.
On October 3rd, KBS released more photos of Go Doo Shim as Ja Geum Soon. They also shared the thoughts of the veteran actress as she portrays a strong woman character.
"Curtain Call" will revolve around an elderly woman from North Korea that has a limited time to live and a theatre actor who will pretend to be her grandson to fulfill her lifelong wish.
This will be the collaboration work of director Yoon Sang Ho ("River Where the Moon Rises," "Saimdang, Light’s Diary," and "The Legend") and scriptwriter Jo Seong Geol ("Hitman: Agent Jun").
Go Doo Shim will play the role of Ja Geum Soon, the main character of the story. She's a strong and rich woman who owns a large hotel in South Korea. Despite what she achieved in the South, she never stopped crying because she misses her whole family in the North.
The veteran actress shared her thoughts about the drama, "Many people from the North have strong internal experience. I came from Jeju so I've been told that I'm hard and strong due to where I came from. The character is attractive because she's a strong woman who complies with society's laws. She also has a lot of property and despite that, she is heartbroken because she left her family in the North."
Go Doo Shim also shared that the reason why she chose to star in "Curtain Call" is that, the title of the drama is already charming, and also, even though she's not good at speaking the North Korean dialect, she liked the character of a woman who came from the North and overcame the years of suffocation by herself and became successful.
The actress will continue to show why she is labeled as the "Nation's Mother" through this upcoming KBS drama.
"Curtain Call" will premiere this October exclusively on KBS. Other cast includes Kang Ha Neul, Ha Ji Won, Sung Dong Il, Kwon Sang Woo, Ji Seung Hyun, and more.
"Curtain Call" will be the next drama of Go Doo Shim for 2022. She last starred in the hit series "Our Blues." For next year, she will also join the upcoming drama "Island Season 1" led by Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, Sung Joon, and Park Geun Hyung.
