Kim Ji Hyun may be the last cast needed to complete the main leads of upcoming series "Thirty-Nine"

Reports stated on June 2nd that Kim Ji Hyun will be the new addition to the main leads of "Thirty Nine." Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Ahn So Hee are also in talks as the leads. 

The drama will showcase the daily lives and romance of friends who are about to turn 40 years old. Son Ye Jin will reportedly play the role of Cha Mi Jo, who came from a wealthy family and now the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam. Jeon Mi Do got the offer to play the role of a  39-year-old acting teacher named Jeong Chan Young.

"Thirty-Nine" will be the collaboration between director Kim Sang Ho ("Run On" and "Age of Youth 2") and scriptwriter Yoo Young Ah ("Kim Ji Young: Born 1982," "Encounter," "My Annoying Brother," and more). It will be produced by Lotte Culture Works and will air on JTBC.

Other reported cast includes Yeon Woo Jin and Lee Moo Saeng

Many are already excited for the chemistry between Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Ji Hyun as they were all born in the same year, 1982.

Kim Ji Hyun is set to appear in the upcoming 2022 drama "Duke City" with Park Soo Ae, Kim Kang Woo, and more. She last starred in the 2020 drama "Backstreet Rookie" as Ji Chang Wook's sister. She was also part of the dramas "Justice", "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes", "Jejoongwon", and more. 

The actress was also part of the 2021 movie "The Box" with main leads EXO's Park Chan Yeol and Jo Dal Hwan.

"Thirty-Nine" will begin filming in the second half of the year.
