Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
Park Hyung Sik is reportedly in talks to star in a new SBS K-drama following Lee Je Hoon and Kim Nam
Park Hyung Sik might be the next leading man for an SBS K-drama, following in the footsteps of Lee Je Hoon and Kim Nam Gil.
According to media outlet Sports Chosun on March 26, Park Hyung Sik will lead a new SBS K-drama titled Treasure Island. He will join actors Lee Je Hoon (Taxi Driver Season 3) and Kim Nam Gil (The Fiery Priest Season 2) who will also reportedly star in a new SBS K-drama soon.
If Park Hyung Sik confirms his casting, this will be his second upcoming K-drama. The idol actor will also lead the upcoming noir series Desperado and will work with director Jang Hoon (A Taxi Driver).
Just recently, Park Hyung Sik led the hit JTBC K-drama Doctor Slump with Park Shin Hye, Yoon Park, Kong Seong Ha, Oh Dong Min, and Jang Hye Jin.
This upcoming K-drama will also possibly be the grand comeback of Park Hyung Sik to SBS. He last starred in the broadcast channel in 2015 through the K-drama High Society with After School's Uee, Sung Joon, Im Ji Yeon, Yoon Joo Sang, and Go Doo Shim.
Treasure Island will showcase the journey of a man who hacked a political slush fund worth 2 trillion won (approx. $1.5 billion) to survive and then lost all his memories after he was attacked.
Park Hyung Sik got the offer to portray the role of Seo Dong Joo. He is the head of the external cooperation team at the presidential secretariat of the Korean Group. He is known for being a "Daesan" man who will live and die for the benefit of Daesan. Although he is known for it, the truth is he is ambitious and wants to take down Daesan if there's an opportunity.
The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Lee Myung Hee (Money Flower) and the script will be penned by writer Jin Chang Gyu (Military Prosecutor Doberman).
According to reports the production team of Treasure Island is in the process of casting. The K-drama is scheduled to begin filming in June.
