side note: are they just going to be posting cut scenes like this on the internet randomly for the rest of the drama? honestly pretty frustrating bc sometimes I like how they directed things with attention to detail (i.e. watermelon gag, scenes full of irony and fitting music) but the scenes that were cut just totally ruins the quality. its like they had two people with different ideas on the production team and they just compromised/tried to meet in the middle.

They are trying a "pay to see" model, but I think it doesn't work that well. They said so in an interview online. But really, it makes the drama unwatchable and look sloppy. I also wondered how much of it is Chinese censors. They've been cutting drunk kiss scenes.

ahh yes, I was thinking that would be the case but I didn't see the option in iQiyi? (I also don't have an account, maybe I'm not seeing some functionalities of the site?)

Yep. lol someone got into an argument that China doesn't participate in capitalism. with me because China is communist, etc. And I'm like here is Exhibit A. Right here.
