Not sure if it really deserves the hype

I literally forced myself to complete it, partly because of Yang Yang looking good in traditional Chinese costumes and partly because Lusi is my favourite. But even these two couldn't save the series. Firstly, I always have a problem with Yang Yang not showing enough expressions. Like, show me that you're happy/sad/angry/h**ny. Anything! Secondly, I felt like something's missing in Lusi's character. Bai Fengxi is undoubtedly strong and elegant but she didn't look promising as a martial artist as much as Feng Qiwu did. Guess Lusi is not made for martial arts characters. The martial sister of Xiyun, Bai Langhua, was annoying as hell. Like she was unsure of what she wants or thinks. Has some confusing and ridiculous trust issues with Bai Fengxi even after being her martial sister. And how come every living woman in the drama (other than the Queen) is in love with Lanxi. Even that maid of his mansion has a crush on him, like?????? I get that Yang is super handsome and pretty irresistible but this is just some kind of mindless fangirling dumped in the drama. Honestly, Feng Chang really raised my expectations of what he initially bestowed upon me. He was the most genuinely created character. Overall I think the drama had a promising potential but was ruined by casting teenagers and dry actors.

From 22 to 22

Sangzhi meets Jiaxu when she was 14, and fell in love with him when she was 17 and he was 22. Jiaxu was her brother's best friend and honestly, this is the healthiest drama ever. The plot, the acting, the storyline was amazing in so many levels. Sangzhi was very personality driven, never accepted unlawful behavior from anybody. She's by far the smartest character I've seen. And damn!! her brother Sangyan was the most beautiful character to exist. He really raised the bar for brothers and best friends. And Jiaxu! damn that man is one charming man!! his efforts to win Sangzhi was just worth dying for. Conclusively, this is the best drama I've watched. Highly recommended!!

Highly overrated

Ji Changwook is a versatile actor and we all know it. Shin Hyesun is the toughest and one of the most elegant actress and we know that too. But here, both of their potentials were wasted big time. I can't even get started on the sheer ridiculosity of the story. The writer made some unbelievably stupid and irritating characters and just dumped them without a proper background. One of them is Cho Samdal herself. That woman's fake pride was high up the sky, and she was living in denial all along that she can never fail, because according to her, she is supposed to be the only one to succeed in Seoul from Jeju. Her bratty behavior and her demeanor was a pain to watch tbh. Next is Yongpil's dad, Sangtae. He definitely has some serious woman issues and was almost a lunatic. He blamed Samdal's mom for his wife's death when in reality it wasn't anybody's fault. I have never seen such a spineless man ever in my life. Imagine blaming someone else for your own incompetence. All in all, it was a forcefully curated slice of life drama where there's no slice of life in it. The only saving grace was the natural backgrounds, at least they were pretty. Eunju, the antagonist, was supposed to be annoying, but she was less annoying than Cho Samdal actually.

Annoying as hell!

I never thought that I'd write a review like THIS for a drama written by ZhuYi. I mean seriously this drama is a mess. I couldn't tolerate beyond 3 eps. Lin Xichi is the most annoying species existing, gosh I felt like slapping her every second. The male lead too was dry and boring as hell. There was no depth in his character. Also he didn't have self respect AT ALL! I mean how can you even talk and hang out with a person who ugly shouted at you cuz you tried explaining her the reality of life. That's just intolerable as hell. Also Xichi is obsessed with her mom and was living in the delusion that her mom wanna fix their broken family when in reality, it doesn't work like that (speaking from experience). Xichi is by far the only one who had mommy issues to this level

Felt nostalgic to the bones

Left me with a sense of fulfillment. When I Fly Towards You is by far the second most peaceful drama (the first being Hidden Love). ZaiZai is the cutest and the most beautiful character ever. Even when she's head over heels for a boy, she always stood her ground, boldly confronted the bullies and worked hard to develop a sense of individuality and independence within. Zhang Lurang.... damn that guy is one charming man. Quiet and aloof yet has a sense of responsibility and loyal to death. The way he was persistent on resolving every misunderstanding that came his way regarding his love life, it was a green flag right there! Every problems were resolved quickly within one episode and it wasn't dragged on much. ZaiZai's best friend Jiang Jia was the best depiction of how a friend is supposed to be. All in all, I loved the drama and it deserves the 9 rating through and through.

Humans are scarier than evil spirits

Fantastic drama! The storyline was so surreal and amazing, it will make you hooked on to your device until you finish it completely. But there are some drawbacks tho. For example, Sanyeong's mom was dumb and stupid till the very end, and I would say selfish too. She only thought about saving her daughter I agree, but in the process she endangered her. Her quest in saving her daughter was running away from every dire situation. She even concealed Sanyeong's father's family secrets and was acting like a lunatic everytime Sanyeong asked about it. She really pissed me off. Hongsae was a brat at first, but his senior's death changed him, and thank goodness for that, cuz I could not tolerate two annoying characters at the same time. He was greedy for promotion but later realised the real meaning of being a civil servant. Now coming to the evil spirit, Hyangi. Damn, she was a real tyrant, just because she wasn't loved by anybody. What I understood from her backstory was that, Hyangi didn't mind being poor, she wanted that happiness that was snatched from her by her own acts of selfishness and greed. When she said, "Why can't you love me?" to Sanyeong's mom, I felt her pain PHYSICALLY. Getting killed because of some psychopathic heiress of a business company wanted her husband's business to flourish, was seriously the most painful part, as Hyangi's teenage and the rest of her life was snatched from her without her knowing. That's why, humans are lot more scarier than evil spirits, and conclusively, this drama was super fantastic. Probably the best work of Kim Taeri.

Uh... Okay

Honestly, started watching this after seeing Darren in Meteor Garden. And I've never seen this actress anywhere else. So this review is solely based on this drama ONLY.
It was cute, I'll admit. You'll see a lot of blue, pink and purple on the screen. But the story as a whole was cliche and kinda predictable. Also, I'd say that Darren somewhat made me annoyed with his bratty actions. And the girl was cheesy and cliched person, probably never moved on from the teenager hormonal self. She was too jumpy and too much talkative for my liking. I did like the second lead better, but definitely not his elder brother. He was a certified asshole with a face like an ASS.
But still, it was bearable.

The most magically woven drama

Let me tell you, I am NOT a fan of Xianxia or Wuxia C-Dramas, but this one just won my heart not once, but over and over again. The leads, YangZi, DengLun and Luo YunXi... They were just amazing. The story, from first to last, was so beautifully made, it feels like you're present right there, in the drama. Even the villains and antagonists perfectly acted their parts, making me hate them so much, which was in fact, the sole purpose after all. The way the story unfolded in every episode was just, Chef's Kiss. Yeah I agree that in some parts, JinMi was annoying and dumb, but you'll see that you can't even blame her for that.
All in all, it was the most amazing xianxia drama I've ever seen, and there were no scope of getting bored. I would definitely recommend this

Too annoying

I really don't think that this drama needed 16 episodes. It was so unnecessary and time consuming. Anyway, let's get into the review

1. I honestly like Rowoon but I don't know why but he gets roles that are pretty irritating and annoying (totally my opinion). Here in this drama, he actually resembled a stalkerish paedophile althroughout the drama, with no consideration of personal opinion or boundaries whatsoever. He totally degraded his self worth here.

2. I honestly never watched any other drama of Won Jinah so I will base my opinion on this particular drama ONLY. Won Jinah as Songah was so intolerable. It seems like she's always annoyed or irritated somehow. I mean c'mon man! That's not being a professional person, that's being an absolutely mean person with an incurable bitchy personality. She has her pride up the sky, which is really good at some point. But when your confidence goes into your head, you're bound to mess up. And honestly, even after catching her cheating boyfriend, she is cussing and yelling at that one person who tried to help her, I'm like... WOW! I mean, how much more of a bitch can you be hon? Then, she's clearly ashamed (or scared) of admitting to her otherwise annoying mommy that she has a boyfriend. Okay I get that she had a critical operation but c'mon!! Honestly I think that Songah didn't deserve Hyunseung, and she actually deserved getting cheated. Her whole demeanor towards Hyunseung was also intolerable. Just because he was her junior, does NOT mean that he deserves to be treated like that (well Rowoon might have deserved that. Provided that he himself was a creepy stalker)

3. Songah's mom. God what the hell is wrong with this woman? Always trying to meddle in her daughter's business. Like shut the crap honey! Okay maybe Songah was too cruel as to never answer her phone, this woman was so manipulative. She didn't want to let her daughter have a boyfriend EVER! Like what's your deal dude? Has serious abandonment issues for her husband cheated on her. Is delusional, constantly saying that maybe his husband had a sway of heart, and chanting the same sentence of her husband promising her to never abandon her, like a mantra. Honestly I know that she had problems in her life but no, she cannot be tolerated.

3. Jaeshin is a pretty good character if you ask me. Yeah he did cheat on Songah by agreeing to marry the chairman's granddaughter, and he was a jerk to Songah, and not accepting his mistakes. But then as the episodes progressed, he did have a character development. Overall he had a good character sketch minus that cheating part. That's unforgivable.

4. Hyojoo.... Oh God! She's not only delusional but also had obsession issues. She wasn't in love with Jaeshin but was downright OBSESSED with him. Still she was better than Songah as she didn't allow her man to treat her like trash because she was well aware of her self worth. But attempting suicide because your crush rejected you.... That's some 12 yr old's hormonal move.

5. Haeun. The daughter of Hyunseung's second elder sister Yeonseung. Man she was WAY ahead of her age and that's... Cute yet annoying. She acted Miss know-it-all and that sometimes pissed me off.

6. Jiseung. I've watched more than 200 Kdramas at this point but I've never seen a dumber girl than Jiseung. I mean she acts like she's flour bombed by a guy in her teenage years. She was the most dumb and idiotic character ever.

Overall this wasn't the best creation of the Korean Entertainment industry, provided that dramas like Goblin, Crash Landing on You and The Mouse was created in the country. Could've been better if someone else instead of Jinah would be there.

Great plot

it was a great plot, no doubt. The sequence of events occurring in the drama kept me on the edge most of the time. but I think that the story progressed way too fast. At some point it was becoming difficult to keep track of the events. Dong Baek's past was given very little screentime, infact, we had to wait until the end to know about his special ability. Well, the acting was great, both of them were fabulous, also I think Sun Mi deserved a little more recognition, she was an absolute talented girl. Also, I would have liked a little more depth in Sun Mi's past but anyway, whatever they've shown wasn't bad either. I greatly recommend this, if you all love thriller dramas

A masterpiece

Just from the first episode you will know that this is a pure masterpiece. I've watched so many dramas but none of them made me feel good like this one. The series of events occurring in every single episode was pure gold. It relates to our student life so much that I almost forgot the boundary line between the drama and reality. Beautifully crafted, the characters were just chef's kiss. The OST was beyond this universe. You'll feel like a high school girl in every moment of this drama. I definitely recommend this. This is just magical, nothing else

not bad, not great

well yeah, I will agree on one thing. Both Tae-Hee and Se-Joo were annoying and whining bitches. They were so full of themselves that I almost felt sorry for Si-Hyun and Soo-Ji. Soo-Ji was actually very practical and brave kind of girl. Yeah since she was the second lead so she gotta show some evil moves but even that wasn't as irritating as Tae-Hee's normal behaviour. I mean... Yeah Si-Hyun did hurt you and that was wrong, but you gotta get acts straight girl! Everytime Si-Hyun comes with an apologizing puppy face, you melt down. I mean.... C'mon!!!! Have a personality of your own dude!!! But anyway, Soo-Ji carried the show way better than I had expected. Y'all can try it out once

it's so boring!

honestly at this point, where I have watched like... millions of dramas but I've never seen such pathetic characters ever! I mean what the hell is wrong with Na-Bi?! Jae-Eon is clearly a walking, talking red flag but she can't see that? is love blind in such a pathetic amount??!! Just get a personality sweetheart! this is so annoying and painfully repetitive! at this point I wanna drop watching kdramas altogether! why can't they make more interesting dramas like Goblin or Memorist?! Also, even that dyed haired woman! she was a total b***h (pardon my language)!! both Bit-Na and Na-Bi were pathetic bitches. Song Kang's Sweet Home was way freaking better!

the most poetic of dramas

this is one of the best thing I've watched in a while. Dilraba won my heart and Yang Yang proved once more that why he's my favourite! I absolutely loved it! In this drama, you can actually feel the emotions the characters were feeling. The leads were so mature! Mature enough to dodge their toxic exes. Dilraba carried her role so beautifully, it seemed like it was God's grace. Yang Yang being the cold and tsundere type, just what suits him, did his part with utmost professionalism and vigour. The side characters were just chef's kiss! I am always open to watch this again and again because this will never get old! this was such a heavenly piece of art that I can't get enough of it

Adorable

It's great but not as great as PYHOMS or ALSB but still it's beautiful and cute except for some annoying bitchy characters like Cai Yasi, Xi Yixing and Jia Yichun. They will annoy the living daylight out of y'all. But other than them, the story was fine and it progressed pretty beautifully. There was enough chemistry for the main leads but I think that if Fanzhou showed a little more emotions, it'd have been less than 28 episodes. Cai Yasi just got on my nerves so many times that he's the most hated character for me. He's damn annoying and always nagging Zhou Xiao to be his girlfriend. Same goes for Jia Yichun. She was a bitch all throughout the drama, till the end. But other than these people, it was beautiful. Give it a try, I'm sure you'll love it
