Yakuza lovers story

I love every minute of this series. It’s hilarious, wild and crazy, with humor in the lines. It’s not perfect, but I don’t mind that. It will no be everybody’s cup of tea. Japanese TV drama’s (teribi dorama) are incomparable with Thai or Korean drama’s because of their intenseness, eye for detail and lessons that can be learned. All problems will be solved in the end and strong script and play.

The series was not available through Disney+ Europe (yet), so I watched it on Drama Cool with the disadvantages that this brings. Subtitles where not available for episode 9 yet, so I will rewatch that episode again later, to get the true meaning of that episode. This drama is very populair in Japan and outside Japan.

I watched it in 1 go. It was surprising, cheesy and entertaining. The lines where sometimes lovely over the top.

Story
It’s manga based. I’ve never read any manga in my live, but will check this one out. I like that they kept clear throughout the series that being together could end any moment, because of his background/profession. You can see that it is not a high budget series. The usage of light and filter felt good. Production well done. Non toxic relation.

Music
The music was good. Especially the recurring instrumental piece with electric guitars and I think cello’s. Can’t find that on the OST list.

Acting
I like the cast, well done. I came for Kimura Keito, I love the acting of Furukawa Yuuta, his facial expressions (eyebrow!). Japanese series don’t show intense kiss/bed scenes in the way Thai dramas do. I didn’t miss that. The way they filmed these moments was good. I love the effect of the cherry blossoms: it showed a world where there was just the 2 of them. Both ML as well as FL where busy with character development in their own way, especially the FL. Don’t expect to much on learning their background and childhood story’s. The series doesn’t go that deep. I didn’t miss that.

I’ll rewatch it when I’m in the mood for it.

Don’t compare it to it’s prequel Until we meet again.

No action, no mystery - like in the prequel. Watch this first and then UWMA is my advice. I must say that I like this also novel based series a lot more.
Several couples, where the main story between Win/Team gets more attention than the other. Great acting and chemistry between the 2 main leads, Boun and Prem. The need a bit of a free hand in the script/acting to give their combined acting potential a super boost - like in episode 11. This was I think not the case in another of their series: Even sun - I didn’t end watching this series.
The depth in this series lies in emotional problems/characters and development in this area. There is attention for thoughts about the heavy consequences of being famous for a private live through the story of Prince/Bee. There’s als attention for starting to know each other online and making the step to a real relation (Wan/Tul). I like it that there was room for a non-BL couple (Manow ❤️/Pruek). The acting from all actors was good. Special attention from me for the 3 fiends A, Bee and Sea. Always worth a good laugh.
Great OST from Boy Sompob.

To short for real depth.

I’ve watched this short series trough Bilibili. I liked it, but it wasn’t super special. I don’t regret watching it. I got a hold of me in de end, because of an unexpected twist. but then the series was almost over. There were still a lot of questions to be answered after 8 episodes. The reason I think it wasn’t super special is because of it’s length. It needed more dan 10x 16 minutes to gain depth. A lot of time was wasted on the recap every episode.

Like most S Korean drama’s no real bed scenes or whatever. I don’t mind that. I liked the acting of Park Jeong Woo. (Seol Dong Baek) and Jang You Sung (Dennis Lee) the most. I think that Park Young Woon (Min Yu Dam) acted a little to flat. Maybe because of his character. The reason to date was "We have to date. If we don't, we die.". That’s a fresh idea. The title was a loose end in comparison of the amount of dinners.

Music was oké. There was a special layer of softness on the filming.

What a beautiful movie.

I will not tell about the story itself, don’t want to spoil anything. You should watch it, without any one or anything disturbing you.
I would actually like to give the story and acting 12 stars. I will not forget this movie about friendship and freshness of first love. It made a great impression on me. It touched me in my heart.
The movie is the writers and directors debut of Bang Woo-ri.
Young, but already great actors - especially the ML and FL. She - Kim Yoo-jung started acting when she was only 4 years old. He - Byeon Woo-seok is als known for the 2020 drama series Record of Youth. I’ll keep following their careers.
A story like real life. Great script. No flaws or down point, everything had a natural flow.
For the music: for me it had no part in the movie - I was so involved in what happend. Duration of the movie was good. I watched the movie on Netflix.

Cute short series

We mustn’t compare this with a 16 hours long series, it’s just 2 hours long. I liked it, I think it’s cute. The story is simple.

I think the theme is important (in a country that’s just starting) to be open for LGBTQ+. The music and other media industry can play a big role in acceptance.

I never in my live heard about OnceOneOf (OOO) before. I like the main song, I have it on Spotify now.

I like the acting too, especially from Nine (JiHoon) and Mill (Eden). The characters suit them.

About the end: it’s a 15+ age series, for teens. It doesn’t need kissing. It gave us a promise. That’s enough for a series like this I think. It also has a good counter role in the new vibe of throwing in more and more nudity etc. in BL series.

The average rating doesn’t suit the deeper layers of this film. You should watch it.

It’s a typical deeper meaning Japanese movie. I forgot that I already watched this film a long time age. That’s because I watch a lot of movies and series. But the feeling of how beautiful the deeper layers in especially his behavior (being damaged in his past, with forthcoming behavior as consequence) struck me directly again.

The movie is softer than the manga, from what I read. It also doesn’t the complete story and the years after. I’ll leave the manga and the behavior in that out of the evaluation and rating.
(Has spoilers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_Girl_and_Black_Prince)

He was ‘wearing’ a shield to defend himself, because of harm in the past. That shield was his behavior, in order to not get further harm in his live. Behavior always has a reason. He’s not just a jurk, born this way. Behavior is often a reaction to (a) certain event(s), which brought about thoughts and feelings. If you change your behavior, you change your life. That is not easy. It requires awareness, insight and the courage to dare to change. That's what we've seen here. This takes time. Fall and rise. At the end of the film, this process is not yet complete. Not with both, because se also changed, with as outcome the decision she made in the end (I won’t spoil that).

I love the acting of both. Yes, he looked like a cold person. But that was his shield role, right?

The music suits the film.

I’ll surely will watch this movie again. .

It’s like reading a manga and watching a series in one go.

A no spoilers review. The score 1 to 10 ratings show that this series isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. The series deserves a much higher score. I liked it and really wish for a sequel. It’s Japanese, so it’s different then drama’s from Korea or Thailand. See it for what it is: a simple first love high school series, in a specific Japanese genre. The story is small, but so what - it’s deep love we’re talking about. No real bodywork, it’s real cute and fluffy (holding hands etc.). You’ve got to like and respect that, and the meaning of the series - also in your ratings.

I didn’t read the manga. I also didn’t mind the overall scoring of the series, in the way that it would make me not watch the series. I’m very interested in Japanese series, because the are always unique. There’s no plot, no speed and no surprising action. It’s a series with a main role for the colors beige and blue to set the tone. The voice-overs for Takara and Amagi are great in their worth.

As I wrote in the headline: it’s like reading a manga and watching a series in one go. The main characters seem flat/2D in their expressions - like in a manga book, but aren’t. There’s a lot of room for communication and finding out how a first and also very deep love works between them. They make small mistakes and learn. The 2 boys also look like they stepped right out of a manga book. The lighting on their faces is specific, it suits the manga idea. I ‘fell in love’ with both main characters and their personalities. You see their struggle together and alone on being (not) populair, (physical) needs and finding a balance in that. There’s a process of adjusting going on.

The 2 most importend supporting roles seem like boys who could have been on your school, they are real. Their roles are well written and played. I want to see more series with these 2 guys. The chemistry between the four boys was very good.

The going forward and back in the story is not my thing, but suits the story.

Nothing but love for this series!

My love mix-Up!(Kieta Hatsukoi) the series hooked me from scene 1. I’ve rewatched it several times, with the same enthousiasme and love. It’s my absolute favorite (BL) Japanese drama. The superb storyline without flaws, the last moment plot, the twists and turns, the shyness and cuteness, attention voor the use of (sun)light, 2 OST’s sung by the ML actors. Then there is the acting from straight faced Meguro Ren (wait until he starts smiling), Fukumoto Riko (so talented), Suzuki Jin (light hearted character, well done) got me for 4h. Special attention for the talented ML Michieda Shunsuke, with his facial expressions. Without him the series wouldn’t have been the same. For some his comedy alike character will need getting used to it, but it’s perfect. Do not forgot the sideline couples in this series. I won’t spoil about them.

Trial and error for love.

Wow. I’ve watched this short series several times now and keep enjoying it to the max. It excites me very much, makes me happy.
I can write here that this college setting, opposites attract and hate/love situation is nr. ‘1 million’ in the South Korean BL series market, but I don’t care at all.
The casting is well done. There’s a continue in character development, from both ML’s. The lenght of an episode and the amount of episodes does not hinder that. The acting feels natural, there’s a great amount of chemistry. They carry the series. I’ll start following their carriers.
I do like their studie directions, it’s refreshing. I like that both characters are clearly gifted, thought each of them from a different base (creative vs systematic). Please don’t read the behavior of Chu Sang Woo as autistic spectrum. His personal growth is to big for that, I know from a professional view.
The setting is small. Probably for budget reasons. I think it’s part of the vibe that you get. It all felt relaxed and intimate.
The real OST is actually small. I like this 2 main songs.
The story actually asks for a second saison. I will watch this saison again.

Eight hours of fun, with passion for fashion.

It was fun, watching the eight hours of the The Fabulous series. Like watching friends in their daily live, with their daily struggles. I’ve binge watched it. The series is about romance and passion for fashion. The casting was well done, even the side characters. That gave great acting and chemistry between the friends. You follow the group of 4 friends together and their single stories. The music supported the series well. No flaws in the storyline. Well written. I’ve seen this now, wouldn’t watch it again.

7 songs, 7 stories, 7 feelings.

The series is announced as ‘7 songs, 7 stories, 7 feelings’ - romance series, where the episodes I saw mede my heart skip a beat. Until now I’ve watched episodes 1, 2, 4 and 6. The music played no important role in my opinion, except in episode 1. It did not stand out. The story’s are short (1 hour). My validation is based on the episodes I watched.
I’ve watched it on Youtube.

Ep. 1 Would you be my love
Earth Katsamonnat Namwirote as Ozone and Santa Pongsapak Oudompoch as Sun.
A story about bullying and harassment on a boarding high school. Don’t watch these episode when you have experienced these themes (in)directly. About that you need a friend in a situation like this. And that there is lonelyness if you don’t. As often in the blue shorts series I wonder why there is no counterweight from the rest of the school, the teachers and other school staff. And no support from parents. I love the role that the title song plays. I love the scene around Ozone’s name. Great acting from the ML’s. I did’nt like the bullies, I liked the acting of the main bully (O Puwanai Sangwan?).

Ep. 2 Rhythm's Heart
With Sood Yacht Patsit Permpoonsavat as the friendly and shy Rhythm and Maya Chanitcha Pimthong as Pimdao. Special attention for the goofy and happy Note (Tae Weerapat Toemmaneerat). Yacht not in his standard rol. This suits him, want to see this more. A one-sided GL and a OSL is what this episode builds on. Loneliness and social anxiety disorder play a role. A slow and simple story.

Episode 4: Once upon a time.
Boun Noppanut Guntachai (Mek) and Prem Warut Chawalitrujiwong (Balloon) are paired together in the BL dramas Until We Meet Again and Between Us. I’ve been anticipating seeing them coupled on-screen again in a different setting. Don’t aspect the same feeling and acting here. The feeling that I mostly had in this episode was of sadness and a broken heart. The story really touched my heart. The weight that’s on an oldest son is hight. Social pressure it is, by not accepting your child is gay and not giving room vor your child’s own choices. Not being able to understand each other as a couple because of different back grounds. Making a sad choice because of love.
Don’t stop watching this episode until after the credits. There’s and extra scene! Check out where that scene is with help of the photo on the wall. Only then you know wether the ending is sad or happy.

I first watched episode 6: VS Love
Peak Panichtamrong Peemapol (Tonnam) and Boom Udompanich Krittapak (Phupha) A high school story about friendship, family, romance & mostly injustice. You may know this couple from Make it right (2016) Here they are better. I think an hour is to short to tell the real story about their love. It’s long enough to solve the main problem. I liked the ML acting, chemistry and the as he called himself: ‘the third wheel’. ;) A powerful drama that tackles cheating in school and social status: the unfair advantage people with power and connections sometimes have.
