I was looking for something action packed with great fight scenes. I definitely found it. The music, actors, graphics, fight scenes, storyline, it was all phenomenal. I also enjoyed how they casted Chinese actors for the Chinese roles and Japanese for the Japanese roles. And kept them speaking (most of the time) their own language. There was a lot of neat graphics used in the movie that I really loved and helped add a bit of lighter feel to the movie even though the core of it is pretty dark. Although, don’t be disappointed that it doesn’t keep that lighter, comic feel throughout the whole movie (for good reason)! It’s worth watching I promise. The storyline did get a bit choppy towards the end but it wasn’t unbearable in the least.
These are my favorite type of movies/dramas so I will definitely be rewatching. I can’t believe there wasn’t more watchers of this movie, it was freaking great. Haha also, the cover image for the movie (which really made me interested to watch it) is a bit misleading bc you won’t find Liu He fighting at all but you won’t be disappointed in the lack of female badass fighting bc that’s where Kiyoko comes in. The actress who played her did such a spectacular job that I looked forward to all of her scenes.
After finishing this movie I quickly went to find if maybe they made a 2nd movie but looks like nothing yet :(( that ending was begging for a 2nd movie and I was really looking forward to that final fight!
P.S. I have also fallen in love with Ou Hao and after I finish writing this review I’m looking for anything else he was in to add to my list :))

Okay first thing is, should the first movie be watched before this one? In my opinion: yes, most definitely. I already know that w/o having watched the first one I probably would have rated this one less than I did because I guess you could say I was a bit sentimental and attached with the characters/stories of the first one. So I enjoyed that they continued them a bit in this one. This was actaully my first time watching anything with KWB in it and I’m so sorry to say that I was disappointed... especially after reading before that one of his favorite movies was Friend and that he had every line memorized so I really tried to like him but couldn’t! :( it wasn’t the character he played, I’ve loved so many with the same traits but idk his acting felt overdone... (sorry for offending anyone who loved him haha) but anyway I loved the first movie and will rewatch it. But as for this one, do I regret watching it? No. Would I watch it again? Highly unlikely

I thought the acting of the male and female lead to be extremely cringey but what held me through is the chemistry between sunwoo & kim nana. To this day I’ll go back and watch their scenes... wish I didn’t waste my time watching the whole series though and just watched their scenes. If you’re debating watching this, start it and if you dont enjoy the leads like I did then skip to the sunwoo & kim nana interactions you won’t regret it!! The music used in it was the 2nd good thing about this drama
