Writer with dementia or indecisiveness?

Have to be last resort to finish this drama. Storyline has 2 arcs with no continuity. Song arc had an interesting beginning but finished with a vague ending. The FL has twin characters as a cold princess dies replaced by assassin twin who is not as cold blooded but actually has compassion. In the Wei arc, FL becomes a weak childlike princess. The ML is a superb martial artist with high intelligence who was robbed of his memories that ended the Song arc. In the Wei arc, he plays a scumbag who seduced two women for their worth to his ambition. At the beginning he promises to marry one by proclaiming to her father that he would rather live an ordinary life with her than lose her to political power; but later in the story out of nowhere, the two suddenly had a mutual agreement that the marriage was contractual and she broke it by falling in love with him (probably to make the ML less of a scumbag.) If that is so, scumbag consummated the contractual marriage by getting her pregnant. With other character discrepancies, it was difficult to convince myself to finish the story pretending it's two different dramas rather than one bad drama with 2 arcs and making excuses for some of the blind spots. The cast consists of many actors who now famous celebrities. This is what kept me going to episode 34. Most reviews are spot on so I am a bit wary about the ending and wonder if I want to go through the rest of the 20 or so episodes for another vague ending. Most likely not, so I marked it as dropped.

It took several attempts to get pass the first two to three episodes before it draws you into the story. I was interested in "The Last Immortal" and found that it was a sequel to "The Ancient Love Poetry " so I finally made it passed the beginning episodes. The theme is similar to Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. The actors did a good job. There are some "rolling eyeballs" and "tongue in cheek" moments. Some humor, tears, and heartaches. Some parts are obvious and predictable. I gave a high rating because if compared to the other dramas that are out recently; the quality, script, acting, costumes all made it worth watching. This is one of Xu Kai's better performance and I found him particularly attractive in this drama. One of the reasons I had difficulties getting into the story was because I did not find his acting interesting but this drama changed my opinion of him. His teary eyes was a killer for me.

Truly want to complete watching the drama just for Peter Sheng.

The story is interesting. I am a fan of the male lead Peter Sheng and was all set to enjoy a piece of great work. Sadly, the actors were all disjointed as if they did not review their script nor did they understand their character parts. They seem to be in their own micro world and not acting with each other. The directing did not help either. The actors also seem to have mental changes with each screen change. For example, the crown prince at first screen had some noble air in the palace but turned into a jiang-hu thug during the academy screens. In one scene as he runs for his life, he bends over his knees in total exhaustion; as he straightened his back, he stands upright as if exhaustion did not exist a second before. The male lead's personality fluctuated through different scenes such that I can not pin his true character; is he cold elegance or young boyish or shy gentle? Two side characters joined the school the same time the main characters did under the approval of the elder as having a "good heart and character" turns out to be school bullies leading a group of followers in the next scene. [My confused self: wait a minute, aren't they new students? How did they become seniors with minions and power? What happened to the two sweet innocent like boys at the entry exam?] As a Peter Sheng fan, I believe his acting could only be as stable as he could musters under the destructive guidance of the director. There are also some flaws with film editing. I can only imagine a "could be" hit drama if only it was under better directing and editing.

Great drama with a wonderful story. The acting is is overall great except for the annoying crying from supporting lead Song Qin. Like the fact that it is not drawn out and is kept in a pleasant concise storytelling. The happy family with a bit of straying makes this a feel good drama with not a lot of frustration and annoying moments. There is none of the typical overbearing mother, stubborn tyrant father, and overly stupid misunderstandings to drag the story out. The flow is great and the story move through fairly pleasantly making this a delightful entertainment. The humor is there at the beginning and towards the end. The costume and the set designs are beautiful.

The story is humorous at the beginning and has an interesting plot; but half way through the drama it started to drag and the Female Lead started to get a bit annoying, albeit she is playing a part of an excitable dog. Towards the end I basically multitasked as I watched the drama and fast-forward to the end. Ending was just as like my fast-forwarding, roughly pieced together to rap it up. I would rate it lower if it was not for the Male Lead who play the cat so hilariously. There are plenty of supporting actors and side love stories; none that interesting. I would like to see the story follow through with the last character who played the turtle as the ending only hinted his involvement with their career.

An amalgamation of a typical school sport romance with a sprinkle of magical fantasy. Good students none too villainous which makes for a sweet hearty feel good drama, thank goodness. The actors all did a good job with their character parts. The hockey plays with a few stylistic tricks were exciting to watch. I rated this high because the drama does not have annoying or frustrating characters that ruining the enjoyment of the viewer. Some may find this bland and wish for the emotional ups and downs but my rating is to show that the drama is a pleasant entertainment.

Careful where you watched the last few episodes.

Firstly, a warning... of course due to the fact that I've watched the entire series from improper channel, the last few episodes were voice recorded of playtime and the last few minutes of the ending was cut off. The actors are wonderful, all have great chemistry together. no annoying voices, characters, background music or endless repeated flashbacks. A sweet story made up of parts from other dramas put together. I've found similar situations and scenes that made me think I've seen the drama before but no, it's just a conglomeration of other sweet dramas. Many moments of hilarity that had my stomach straining from laughter. An enjoyable drama worthy of binging and re-watch (although I'll wait awhile.) I usually don't enjoy English songs sang by Asian artists but surprisingly, I like the opening and ending theme songs for this drama. The two main leads were such wonderful actors and I also like the cousin uncle's acting which he didn't go overboard with it. My comment on the age difference between the ML and FL... they worked it together natural that I do not notice the gap; both acted their age and their personality work together very well.

Nice Light Hearted Romance/Detective Drama

The story is interesting with a mix of romance, prince charming, cross dress, imperial feud, sweet sibling love, cute second lead romance, humor; basically, it's a hearty feel good drama. The acting is great and the chemistry among the actors were good. The back drop production set is beautiful. The detective works are concise and short pieces of a large puzzle that conglomerated for a nice finish. The whole story is short and concise, not drawn out nor dragged out making it a delightfully feel good drama. There are some flash backs but not irritatingly overdosed. There are also a bit of joyful funny moments. I can't say it is something I would re-watch but I can say that it was definitely worth time watching it.

The story is well written. It was will organized and has quality without the drama garbage. There are bits of humor, romance, and tragedy all mixed with cultivation involving the three realms adding some magical/spiritual/divine beasts. I am glad there was some efforts made to create a happy ending and all bits and pieces of the story eventually merged together in a most satisfying ending. The actors did a great job in bring the story to life. The music scores blended well with the story in creating the right emotion and atmosphere without drowning the dialog which I find disappointing in some dramas. I binged through the whole drama but it would be quite awhile before I would watch it again but it was definitely worthy of watching at least once.

Waste of a good story.

Can you believe I've binged the entire drama till the last 10 minutes before fast forwarding to the end? I don't even care if they all live happily ever after or not; nor did it matter if the villains got their just deserved. As a matter of fact, they just died off the scene leaving meaningless taste of dissatisfaction. Though they tried to bring the ending to a climax by bringing the audience to an all time low first, that was at a risk of losing audiences' attention.
On the bright side, I actually enjoyed the music score more which is usually seldom. Overall, it's a good, enjoyable drama but has a disappointing ending; it's like reading a novel that has the last page missing.

At the beginning of episode 25 and I feel like I am watching a bunch of cockroaches that don't die. It's a very typical dramatized story that gets the viewer frustrated at the villains and portrays the goody two shoes to be stupid. Albeit some parts are interesting and exciting but it becomes monotonous. I am stopping here to get over the same old cockroaches and maybe coming back to finish the story when I find myself very bored. Too bad, I like the actors in the drama. The music is also hurting my ears due to the high pitch ringing.

In comparison with the 2nd season, this last season was a bit of a disappointment. The female lead started to have the annoying personality with an irritating voice. The male lead seems to have lost his acting skills. The unrequited love of the 2nd male lead drags though half the drama; it would be fine if he was the main lead but obviously he was not and we know there is no fruition. I've fast forward quite a bit of the episodes to get to the ending. The positive side is there were some humor. The last few episodes focuses on the mysterious villain which kept the story lasting to the ending. The finale was disappointing, the ones who should be killed does not and the ones who shouldn't, does. The final ending was an interesting twist but also felt like a commercial

The first season didn't leave me too much impression, but the second season was entertaining. The story was good with some humor. It has some medical sleuth that keeps the audience attention. The romance is typical but does not take up the whole story. The acting is average. The female lead stands up on her own with no comparison with the first season female lead making it believable they are the same character. The male lead is natural in his acting. The negative side is the 2nd season ended with a cliffhanger that goes straight into the 3rd season which was a bit disappointing.

The synopsis enticed me into eagerly watching the drama. It started out interesting with a typical screenwriter transported into her story in a dreamlike state (similar to Scarlet Heart 2.) It was entertaining through half the drama then it started to slow a bit and then it got to a point where my attention started straying away with me fiddling with side activities like browsing and shopping. The main issue I have is that the antagonist gets away with everything including murder, I mean literally and that is disappointing. The ending was also disappointing as in not much effort was put into tying the dream side to the reality side. The story is very typical and just a little bit funny. The actors were great. I enjoyed the female lead the most. She has great comedic facial expressions, cute voice, and even when she laughs, cries, shouts, or get angry , she does not have an annoying high pitch effects that would send chills up my spine. I've seen her other works and find her to be one of few actresses whose cutesy acting is really cutesy. This drama is worth watching because of the actors, the story is okay but not a re-watch and binge worthy in the beginning half of the drama.

Great story with a decent plot and keeps the audiences' attention. There are not too annoying or frustrating (thank goodness) with a bit of humor. The main lead actor is a treat to watch; the main lead actress is also not sickly sweet. The 2nd male lead is good but I had a difficult time with the 2nd female lead although she has perfect androgynous features for the male/female role. I would like to see the role of QingChen more involved. QingChen life story and identity is interesting and could make for another romance or as 3rd couple is this drama.
