Interesting but plot got lost

I was skeptical about starting this drama, but I was intrigued by the beautiful costume and some cinematography. I pushed through episode 1, then I was hooked by the twist of fate between the ML and FL. The story got funnier, enjoying and even some romance. Even the villains made sense in the first arc. But it as the story progressed some characters development didn’t and the story became stagnant to me. I started skipping a lot of it because the story couldn’t hold my attention at it did in the previous arc.

Even though, I finished it I still Feel lost, because the main villain revenge plot was empty and just made no sense to me. I will Not rewatch it, but it was somehow enjoyable

What a ride of beautiful bones

Finally after 50+ episodes our SZC and Shiyi are happily married! I Loved this series so much, might watch a few times. I liked the book better, but of course the book (original) is always better. I thought that Bai Lu and RJL did an overall great job, even some of his limitations. Could it have been better, yes there were a few things that could have been better, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I was smiling, giggling like a high school girl most of the time, compared to OnO where I cried majority of time. What a beautiful ending to heal our soul.

Starts great … but

Every time, I see a high rating on 16-20 episodes Kdrama lately, I’m always wary about it. And praying that once i start binge watching it wouldn’t disappoint me midway. I was truly enjoying this drama, until midday and my fear come true. Casting was amazing, I just Wished they flushed out most of the characters and made it a solid drama from start to end.

Once the main couple got together; which I thought They could survive no matter what writers had to mess it up by bringing the usual cliches of “sick” mother who will chose some form of revenge instead of their own kid’s happiness. I wish they showed how these siblings worked hard to heal from the trauma, instead of one always being angry, the other relationship jumping and the brother who was still lost in all of it. They could’ve done so much more than fall into the cliches ending.

Overall it was a good series that lost the plot midway.

Good drama, some missed opportunity

Overall, I enjoyed the overall drama, but it had some elements that did not sit well with me. Let start with the things I enjoyed, then what I did not.
What I enjoyed:

Kang-Ho and Mi-Joo relationship from start to end. I have come accustomed to kdrama relationships being dragged until the end for the couple to be together and to many unnecessary misunderstandings, but this relationship was different and refreshing. Even when Mi-Joo was upset with him, she understood and sympathized with his recovery time. Their good times together was so precious that you could feel the intimacy between them. Individually they did an amazing job that you couldn’t help but fall in love with the character and root for them

The twins were exceptional. For their age, they mad this show so much fun and necessary comedic relief. They had the perfect timing for the truth and comedy. Every time they were in my screen, I laughed, cried and jump of joy with them. What an amazing casting.

Kim- Sik was also enjoyable character, you couldn’t help but try to love or root for him. I really wish that his character had a better development at the end, instead of just him still being a thief. But his help with the case was vital and that’s why I wanted More for his character.

What I didn’t enjoy much:

Kang-Ho’s mother who stayed the same, even though, she tried to take accountability before her demise. No matter how hard they tried to redeem her character, she still didn’t change for me. This is here where the writers missed the opportunity for me. In my opinion, Before and after the accident, she was still abusive. I thought that after Kang-Ho accident, and he told her why he couldn’t eat, she would change but she did for 2 mins then went back to more abuse. Everything she was doing was self serve and the title should just have stayed bad mother. It was so frustrating to root for her to try to redeem herself

The villagers were extra in every scenes, even though they added some comic relief, but their stories were underdeveloped. Like the washed singer what was his purpose really? The neighbor that always had a facial mask.

Overall, it was a well done drama, it’s mostly the mother character that left me puzzled and unsatisfied. I will definitely rewatch for the twin and some other characters.
