A plot that keeps pulling you back in for more? In this BL? It’s more likely than you think.

When I first started Triage, I must say, I was not entirely sure what to expect. Medical drama? With a time loop? And of course a romance? To be honest, I worried a little that the show would be too melodramatic for my tastes.

My friends, I need not have worried.

Triage is a show that is heavy on the plot, deals in some darker themes, and is full of twists and turns, but never becomes so convoluted that it’s hard to follow. Unlike some other media about time loops I’ve seen, each new loop brings entirely new choices and consequences, keeping every episode fresh and clipping along at a good pace that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The romance is also quite lovely, and although both characters are occasionally dumbasses (I say affectionately), their emotional growth is inherent to the story and builds in a way that for the most part feels very natural and well done. There’s also some absolutely brilliant mirroring in the ways their devotion to keeping each other alive plays out, but explaining that would be a spoiler, so I shall refrain.

Now to be entirely fair, Triage isn’t perfect. There ARE a handful of moments when twists in the plot or emotional development come off a tad clunky or rushed, and not every detail is fleshed out as much as it could have been. However, every show has it's flaws, so trust me when I say you shouldn’t let that stop you from giving it a try. Overall, Triage is a fresh and quick paced ride that does an exceptionally good job of tying together its complicated narrative and emotional arcs.

Definitely a recommendation, 100% worth the watch.
