Despite the fact that I'm not good with words, I still want to review this one.

In one word, this is a MASTERPIECE. Beware, it'll left you with such a nostalgiac feeling, you can't help wanting to go back to your teens. But even if you are hesitating that it might left you emotionally stirred, still give it a go. You DEFINITELY won't regret it. It's worth your time and emotions.

It portrays friendship, teenage, love, maturity, aduthood, relationships and life in such a way, I felt I was living with every character. You can't help but fall in love with its every character. I mean how can't you. It felt so real, so warm and heart-wrenching to watch their journey from being mischevious teens around the neighbourhood to mature adults. It was an emotional roller-coaster ride for me. I felt so emotionally attached to a drama after such a long time. I have so much to say about this drama, but words won't be enough to describe how much I loved it.

Slice-of-Life and family dramas are either a major hit or miss for me. Reply 1988 was in my PTW list for such a long time. I wasn't much impressed with Reply 1997 so I was hesitant as to how might this one turn out. Recently, I completed A poem A day and someone recommended Reply 1988 there. To fill the void left after watching APAD, I gave it a go. And I am glad I did.

It was heart-warming to see the relationship between the families around the block. They felt more than a family. Those ahjummas sitting outside the house, chatting and sharing their worries was something I loved watching. It's amazing how they portrayed every aspect of life, everyone's worries, concerns, dreams, regrets in such a beautiful way.

One thing I strongly felt after watching this drama is that Second Lead Syndrome is real here. From the start, I was rooting FL with him. I was pretty much sure she'd end up with him. I wasn't even giving ML a chance, but then it happened. Just to be clear, I love Park Bo Gum. And I didn't even knew Jung Hwan's real name nor I remember seeing him in any other drama. BUT! i fell so hard for him in this one. I was so in love with his character.
I mean it was justifiable that FL ended up with ML. He loved her so much. Still! it breaks my heart everytime I think about how Jung Hwan used to watch Duk Seon from his room's window, how he used to protect her in the bus, how he waited for her outside the house just so they can take bus together and the unforgettable confession scene. It was so heart-touching. I haven't seen any confession more beautiful than this. Or maybe I am being biased, whatever.

Also, the acting, the dialogues everything was so good. It surely is 10/10. A MUST watch. I hope it may help someone in dillemma, decide to watch it.
