need better editing

Choppy editing makes it seem like the story is all over the place but if you're patient enough to follow through, I think you can see that the story is good. There isn't much character development but I don't think it needed to be: both FL and ML are already the top players in their field and the story is about how to solve the problem together. Absolutely love the friendship and loyalty (Jia Liang) and I have to say someone I thought was going to be annoying turned out to be wonderful, smart and reasonable (Ding Fang). The villian side is a bit dull and easy to guess, there're some ridiculous love obsessions. But the ending is nice and neat.

I feel like the role was written for Xiao Yan. She played dual characters like this before in The Legends with Bai Lu. Who dressed her up with those ridiculous hairstyles? LOL

CDrama 101

All the typical tropes are there, from the beginning to the very end...cringy and cheesy lines etc. etc. School setting but their romance and friendships are quite mature compared to other shows, as in there is trust and communication between the lovers. Conflict resolves quickly. A good filler show, this feels as if this is a "practice show" for a new director. But surprisingly I did enjoy the characters and keep watching despite it being so predictable. Probably no rematch value unless you fancy any of the actors there.

Good show occasionally ruined by silly romance

I'm all for romance but this is just annoying, mainly because Idk what to make of the two leads. Jiang Shuo is supposed to be smart and talented but he always ask "What are supposed to do?". Yuan Mu Qing is sometimes awesome badass sometimes she can't move her finger to save herself, with a mood swing and random tanthrum. The bromance was much more enjoyable. I can see the show quality declined toward the last couple episodes, then at the end, it seems like the writer didn't know how to end this show so the last episode is very out of place.
