Totally underrated

I'm writing this review just because i think the ratings are really unfair with this one.

Ji chan wook nails the character so much, that you can see a diferent, well built and totally relatable person.
The heroine is strong, determined, soft hearted and beautiful, she is not anoying, nor naive and doesn't feel like a victim even though she actually is. The character development is so deep!!

THE SUPPORT CHARACTERS are so amazing that make you forget about the main couple, and sink into their reallity even if you havent lived anything like that (I mean episode 10) it's brilliant acting combined with emotional impact and values... something you dont see coming and that is not common to see on tv.

100 % recomended, you have the comedy, the action, the romance, the interesting and fresh plot and don't pay attention to the critics and bias referring to this title, just watch the first 2 episodes and you'll be hooked on it.

This is my very first rewiew and I'm writing just because I think it's really unfair the low ratings this series is getting. I've seen less original, lower quality and poorly written dramas get better ratings, and many of them just by fangirling alone.... Ok this is not the best drama ever but it is really good.

The story, even into the 2nd chance cliché, has many interesting plot twists and, ones more original than others, keeps you interested until the last episode. It's true that the first 10 episodes were better conceived, and specially the 2 first ones, but it still has a logic development of events and a very appropriate ending. There are a few things they leave unexplained (for example why some people change apearences and other don't) but nothing that lets you down.

The characters are well played, nothing out of ordinary, the protagonists have good chemistry, dialogues are not predictable, the male lead actor is really beautiful and sweet and shares very well the protagonist role with the female lead who is a strong and well defined character. The secondary chararters are charming and have their own growing and development, which is also a good trait.

The action and romance are very balanced and feels very naturally developed, if you like the thrill this one has many good scenes, and if you love romance and fluffy couples with healthy relationships this one has very sweet moments too.

I understand the people that love romance but doesn't like seeing blood or cruel characters, but it's not my case, the supernatural things are not that deep or with many special effects but the explanations are efficient and enough to make it logic and plausible.

It was an enjoyable watch and I would recommend it to anyone that likes action, thrill, romance and supernatural convination of elements.

The few good episodes are the 5 first ones and the last one. Dont be fooled the supernatural in this one is just to have the traditional makjak (young ceo fights against the villains in a corporate business plot, alongside with a poor energetic pure unfairly victimiced heroine with a tragic but surprising bakground at the end).

The secondary trio are there just for the laughts, which were too little for me, and some support... Wasting so much potential!

I know this is one of the classics and I saw it just because that reason, but, how can a plot have so many evident holes? You have to ignore so many nonsensical outcome of situations, and how they just go on with the story is something I was really amazed.

The only cliche that they don't use is childhood friends/love that dont remember about each other, and traumas, the MLdoesnt have any, so HURRAY!

All the story starts because a murder they had to solve in the past, and they ignore it most of the series just for an inheritance that didn't even want or have anything to do with the protagonist, and within 15 mins in the last episode without even investigating it, the potagonist just solves it. And that's it. The ending is one of the most confusing and short that I have ever seen.

If you want to see somethig supernatural or fantastic just don't watch this one.
If you are looking for good plot, or original ideas, the colored tracksuits are the most you are going to get.
If you are looking for the traditional rom com CEO/PRINCE falls in love with poor energetic naive girl, this is the one for you.

Just letting you know so you don't get deceived as I did.

Plainly boring, invisible plot, almost none character development or action... DISAPPOINTING!

THIS SERIES IS NOT LIKE HIDDEN LOVE!!I whatched it for that reason, and...nope!
If you are thinking of watching this one, just let me warn you:

This is a sedative and idealistic story of how 5 teenagers have a happy life where they get everything they want with tittle or non-exintent obstacles.

Character development= near ZERO (just one character has some problem, and its solved within 1 or 2 episodes...)
Action: ZERO.
STRUGGLES= what is that word?
Plot twists= ?? It can't be more lineal and predictable.
Relatable characters or situations= Maybe, 1 or 2?
Comedy= nop, nop, nothing...
Romance= yes, but could it be plainer? Childish? Second couple is more realistic than first one....
Love trinagles= none, go find another series if you want some excitement or tension...
Action: ??
Charismatic supporting characters= nop, not even main characters or actors...
The Values or the moral of the story= doest it have one? which one?where? did I miss it?

This was an almost empty display of every day situations that weren't that realistic after all, everything was soooo nice and paceful that felt artificial and even forced.

Did someone fell out of love? NOPE
Are problems of society protrayed? NOPE
Did anyone have situations that couldn't solve by themselves, where they had to fight or find themselves powerless? NOPE
Can you find problems teeenagers face nowadays aside from studiying? NOPE
Where there some evil character o rival that challenged the protagonists to get out their confort zone? NOPE
Where there any parent or teacher or any kind of role model that inspired the characters to grow or change? NOPE
Where there any dangerous situations that the protagonists had to overcome? NOPE

So if after reading this you still choose to whatch this one, I hope you get what you are looking for! Be my gest! Enjoy it!
Maybe you are looking for a series that'll help you relax and distract from your estressing life...

I wrote this for people like me that thought it would be like HIDDEN LOVE and were hugely disappointed. If you watch it anyways, don't say I didn't warn you.

A HIDDEN GEM

I watched it without any expectations, and just loved every second of this one!!! It's original, fresh and at the same time realistic in every aspect... Here I give you the reasons why I loved it so much:

GENUINE PLOT:
This a mocumentary about relationships in wich the characters are involved between eachother but at he same time without knowing some vital info leading to many fun moments, misunderstandings and making the angst grow as the events unfolded... The storyline is something I've never seen before, and I've had my share of doramas, anime and series, it is quite diffiult to surprise me lately, but I have to say that I didn't see some of the events coming.

AMAZING ACTING:
Ji Chang Wook totally rocked the show with his incredible acting skills. I was already a fan but some of his last works weren't very brilliant (the script didn't give him much room for it either) but this one had just the kind of lines that can make his light shine. The rest of the cast is also really good and the chemistry between the couples is no joke.

COMPELLING CHARACTERS:
I felt really close to the ML, in many ways I've acted as pathetic as he did, and the situations were so stupid and intricated that made me think it culd have happened to someone for real. You can see how the characters grow and develop episode by episode, even if the series is very short it doesn't feel rushed or forced. Even the dialogues flow naturally and intelligently...

ADDICTIVE, HEART WARMING, AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS PORTRAYAL.

And some sexy scenes add the spicy touch to the story that makes it all more interesting... If you know what I mean...

If you are wondering what to watch, give this one a shot, it's so short and dynamic you wont regret it!!

This is one of the best dramas of the year for me, it left a great feeling after watching it, so if you like sweet and funny romances this is for you. It's a classic secretary-Ceo love, where the girl is a sweet but not so beautiful angel and the Ceo is (at first) a stupid cold jerk, that ends in love. BUT the process of the love is full of hilarious scenes with some fresh touches that makes it a special drama.

The acting was surprisingly good, the characters felt really close and the support roles were also charming and well played.
The plot was my favourite part, because in this kind of dramas is very difficult to please everybody, many people love the classic style and many others expect more a creative development, but this one has both, a classic structure with many original scenes.
The music was ok, not very repetitive but helped the emotions to flow all allong the story.

I watched this one like 6 months ago, and I'm still looking for a drama that has this kind of chemistry between the couple and the balance this one has with comedy/romance/working issues/melodrama. I feel like the scriptwriters wanted to reinvent the classical office romance, and they really did it.

If you are looking for a light hearted romantic comedy, just give it a try!

Good beginning... Terrible ending...

The obviously overrated marks made me give this one an opportunity... And now I'm totally disappointed.

If this series had ended on ep 16, it would have a good ending... but no... they had to destroy it all along with my feelings.

Seriously, if it wasn't for the first half of the episodes this whole series would be a complete waste of time.

Starting with the childish, prideful and unreasonable FL. Her decisions don't make any sense, there are countless times when she behaved frustratingly selfish and puts everybody in danger. She makes the ML look like a fool in many occasions and I truly pitied him all the time.

There is an amount of pointless suffering and plot holes that makes you wonder if the script writer even cared about the audience.

IF YOU TRUST THE ALL THE HIGH RATINGS LIKE ME AND GIVE THIS ONE A TRY, JUST REMEMBER THAT I HAVE WARNED YOU FIRST!

You'll cry rivers, if you like suffering, great! But it doesn't mean every body does...

Fun and interesting plot... Lets you with a good feeling.

This series being a classic saeguk, somehow reinvents the topics a clichés into a well formed cmbination of comedy adventure and romance.
It had many moments in which the plot twits surprised me, and I've seen so many dramas that I`ve lost the count, in every episode. inluding the last one, you have little surprises that make you stay on your chair til the last minute to see what happens next.
The ML has this charismatic aura that eclispes the rest of the characters and his acting skills are no joke, at times smooth, then strong willed, other times weak and emotional... He has so many expressions that flows so naturally that its impossible to feel moved at any time.

There wasn't a moment in which I felt bored, the story and the script is very compelling, every character has their own backstory, you see them grow and transform episode by episode... The wholesomeness in this series is so high, I loved the fact that every one and each of the characters had made mistakes but they repented from them, appologised and changed aftherwards.

The only thing that I really missed was the main couple's kiss.... Its not that they were cold or the romance was weak, but its something that you expect to happen and even til the very end you never have... If it wasnt for that I would have given this series a 10/10, which is a pity because it was so good in every aspect that it is a bit of a let down.

I recommend it to everyone that likes saeguks but also wants to see healthy realtionships and masculinity portrtaits.

What supernatural stories should be! A hidden gem!

This is the best surprise I had since "It's ok not to be ok", I think even better y many aspects... And, It doen`t make any sense there isn't a Romance tag in this one. There is more romance than in many dramas that were labelled that way (Train is one of those). This one has many amazing points:

ORIGINAL STORY
UNIQUE WORLD/LORE/AMBIENT
AMAZING EFFECTS
ACTING QUALITY OVER THE TOP EVEN WITH THE EXTRAS
RELATABLE CHARACTERS
OUTSTANDING FEMALE PROTAGONISM
HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
REAL LIFE VALUES
SUPERNATURAL WORLD WITHOUT CLICHÉS
INTEGRATING COLECTIVES NATURALLY
UNEXPECTED PLOT TWISTS
VISUALLY INCREDIBLY INTELLIGENT AND SPECTACULAR COLORS USE
CHARACTERIZATION AND COSTUMES UNUSUALLY NATURAL AND COMPLEX (PEOPLE WITHOUT ANY MAKE UP)

If you pay attention to the bad critiques and the lousy ranking you are going to miss a great piece of art, a trully hidden gem.
And, Nam joo hyuk playing a not sexualiced character for a chance and totally roking it like a boss.

JUST WATCH THE FIRST EMISODE IF IT DOESN`T EXITE YOU A BIT, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU.
MANGA/ANIME LOVERS DON'T SKIP THIS ONE!!

Beautifully painfull

It tries to be realistic, but ends up being a bit cliché.

Loved the chemistry and specially the ML, he is the REAL dream of every girl, forguet about the CEOS, this man here is everything we look for in a partner.
The romance is quite fast paced and toxic af... you see red flags as big as mountains from ep 1, and, its just flows that way.

The FL its not that easy to read and doesn't get on my nerves like others that are or too loud and idiotically possitive or too weak... The other couples are so so...
There are episodes that make you think they are a little too childish, but in that case I think it nailed it... People at 20 are pretty much just big children, at least I was.

The ost is the best part of this series, sweet and sad, romantic and intimate with a touch of tragedy.
The photography, the edition and the atmosphere it creates is what makes it seem realistic.

BUUUUUUT

SPILERS COMING!

THAT ENDING!!

WHYYYYYYY

SO SAD AND AMBIGUOUS...

If I knew I wouldn't started it. Remember Heartbeat? Well... you can guess...

Ok, I normally only write possitive recs since there is enough people critisizing dramas due to liking the characters, actors, couple chemistry and plot... But this one has serious problems even without taking those into account.

1st HUGE problem is edition. I was watching episode 6, and they left many unedited or poorly pasted screens in scenes, in which, if they wanted, could have solved them by avoiding showing the pics, or screens... But there are other scenes in which they pasted cuts from other scenes into scenes that should have been integrated using CGI but they didn't.

The first 2-5 eps were ok in this sense, but, I can't continue watching something like this when there is a HUGE TECHNICAL MESS when only cutting those scenes could have solved it.

2nd Problem: the elitist female main character, so rich and powerful maybe a little too over the top and difficult to approach... I don't know much about this world, but it doesn't feel realistic or natural. They create a new environment where this people control the world most powerful people with near spy devices and techniques (which may be true but it still feel forced). The operations room with the motorbike like computers... WTF?

3rd Problem: They spend too much time in every case subjects life problems, like mini dramas into the real drama, and makes it really slow.

4th Problem: They make an effort to portray a devastated alcoholic man that risks his life to take pictures for a sadistic boss, but in 4 episodes he is almost cured. They want to make a dark atmosphere where every body exploits everybody's weaknesses for an exclusive, but it feels like the male protagonist accepts it too easily.

5th Problem: WHERE ARE THE SUPPORT ROLES? There isn't ANY comic character, no close friends, no rivals, no backgroud characters that stays more than 3 mins on screen (or that have a real relationship) that are not: employees that only talk about work, homeless people (that I thought would be the comic ones, but nope), every episode temp characters...

I'm not watching anymore, maybe in the future if I get bored, but it was this series what I found boring, I love action dramas like The K2, The guardians, Lawless attorney, 2 weeks, and I thought this one was foing to be like them because of the first episodes... BUT WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!

When you are more on your smatphone than watching the drama, you know that you are not enjoying it.
