Overhyped

My friend's recommendation led me to this kdrama featuring Song Kang and Yoojung. Positive reviews fueled my anticipation.

Intro: Encountered the intro on TikTok multiple times—it's catchy but carries similar fantasy vibes as Goblin. Yet, nothing beats the Goblin intro.

Story: The plot feels oddly familiar, reminiscent of dramas like Goblin and Doom at Your Service. Prior exposure to the ending on Facebook, with Guwon's body disappearing, raised suspicions of replication from Goblin. The parallels between Kim Shin and Guwon's journeys are hard to ignore—the past lives' connections, saving people from accidents, beggar as the Diety/God and even the disappearing bodies.

The plot lacks coherence, leaving me puzzled about the inexplicable transfer of Guwon's tattoo to Dohee. No discernible meaning emerged. Guwon's indecisiveness about Dohee's marriage proposal felt erratic. It's an easy watch, suitable for newcomers. The final episodes seem hurried, rushing Guwon's return for a swift happy ending. Seuk-hoon's ascent to chairman pleased me, overcoming initial doubts from my Vincenzo-induced skepticism of brown permed guys.

Felt like something is missing

This film strongly echoes Rachel McAdams' "The Vow," as both couples endure a car accident, experience amnesia, and rediscover love.

Kang Ha-neul has been a favorite since "To The Beautiful You," and the chemistry with So-min is delightful. So-min's charm and Haneul's versatility shine, especially in comedic roles.

The storyline defies typical romcom expectations, portraying the chaos and humor of modern relationships. So-min using Haneul's law certificate as a coaster adds a hilarious touch.

I rate it 7.5; despite being a Haneul fan, I remain unbiased. It's a must-watch for a funny romcom, though the pacing feels slightly rushed. More scenes pre-rekindling love would have enhanced the experience.

cute romance movie <3

For a relaxed romance film, this one is a great choice! The movie is adorable, especially with the perfectly cast male lead – his looks are spot on. The chemistry between the leads feels natural, progressing from friends to lovers without any forced moments. I watched it twice, still amazed by the unexpected plot twist. Plus, I appreciated that they didn't portray the friend negatively after discovering the female lead's pretense.

While the plot is predictable with the inevitable conclusion of the main characters ending up together, the narrative skillfully balances themes of friendship, ongoing life, and personal growth. To enhance the experience, additional scenes depicting the characters after their confession would be appreciated.

Chef's kiss ?

Someone has replaced Goblin as my top 1 kdrama. Never did I think it would be Song Joong-Ki. Trust me, I'll say it again—I'M NOT A FAN OF HIM, and I just watched his shows this 2024.

Okay, this show was recommended by a friend, so I gave it a try. Damn, the first three episodes were so boring, and it felt so long. Who knew episodes with an hour and a half are still a thing??? I even changed the setting to 1.5x to watch it faster. It was wasting too much time. I really considered dropping it, but my gut said this show has potential, so I continued watching.

After episode 4 where Cha-young's father died, little by little, it captured my attention. Fun fact, I really like watching law series. This show got me screaming and nervous at the same time. Too many revelations, and the visuals? Best casting ever. It got me hooked until the last episode. Taecyeon's English-speaking skills are so good ?

I got post kdrama syndrome because of this. After watching it, I felt empty and kept posting TikTok edits of them. I really liked how this show focuses on law, corruption, and exposing Babel rather than making it romantic for Cha-young and Vincenzo. Also, I liked Vincenzo's relationship with the tenants, how gradually their relationship progressed.

P.S. my score really is 10 but I don't remember any ost from it so I gave its music score 1.0 with the overall of 8.

Watched Vincenzo after this and I forgot I even liked this show before

It’s been three weeks since I watched this, but I don’t remember any significant episode that is unforgettable for me. However, the OST is excellent; the musical director deserves a raise. Anyway, I got hooked on this show because of Song Joong-Ki’s charms. Believe me, I’m not a fan of his, and I was really looking forward to the second lead guy, but Joong-Ki knows how to catch our attention with his charms.

I gave it a 7 because the last part felt a bit rushed, and I think his character dying is irrelevant. Like, he died that easily and came back like nothingi happened?? That episode was so meh

One of the best!

Initially started this series a few years ago, but the stress induced by Inha's mom prevented me from finishing it. Her character's malevolence had a profound impact on Ha-myeong's life, shattered by a few callous words.

After enduring the intensity of Vincenzo, I convinced myself to complete this show, realizing it wasn't as stressful. Regrettably, I should have finished it earlier; the experience was incredible. The casting was spot-on, with Lee Jong Suk's charm and Shin-hye's excellent portrayal of Inha. Boem-jo's character gave off Kim Woo Bin vibes from The Heirs.

The unique storyline, weaving Pinocchio elements with the media, showcased the dark side of entertainment. It shed light on media manipulation, emphasizing selective exposure and collaborations with powerful figures to conceal wrongdoing. Ha-myeong's character development from a shattered life to an exemplary reporter was commendable. Inha's mom also underwent positive growth, choosing to be the reporter she aspired to become.

Jae-myeong's presence was pivotal, providing Ha-myeong the strength to persevere. I also liked how Dalpo's father told stories to Jaemyeong when Ha-myeong was still a kid.

Yearning for more scenes of Yu-rae and Captain Hwang, their adorable chemistry left me wanting ? Did Captain Hwang truly have feelings for her?
