JOY OF LIFE AND SWORD SNOW STRIDE FALL INTO SAME GENRE (STORY / CHAR WISE / PLOT TYPE)

BOTH MLS PLAYED BYZHANG RUOYUN whose FAN XIAN(ML OF JOL) AND XU FENG NIAN (ML OF SSS) INCARNATE
BOTH MLS go from weak to strong, cunning, manipulative, eloquent, loyalty, witty, also have humor AND doesn't mind using their familial prestige with pride unlike many other mls.
Many badass fls in both Series. ( Both protagonist and antagonist side)
Morally Grey characters also present
Complex antagonists ( various)
Total new fantasy world building / kingdom
The storytelling of these Series is what's the main plus point
JOL WILL HAVE TOTAL 3 SEASONS ( 746 NOVEL CHAPTERS)
SSS WILL POSSIBLY HAVE 5+ SEASONS (2000 NOVEL CHAPTERS)

Both show's stories are somehow similar. In Lovesickness, FL time traveled in the ML era, but in An Ancient Love Song, ML time traveled, and they tried to change the history and tragic end of their lover. But in terms of production and story execution, the quality of An Ancient Love Song Show is higher than Lovesickness.

I think these two dramas are similar because they both depict a character who is simply following his ideas and living his life, but he meets someone from the Communist Party and is unknowingly involved.
In War of Faith, the importance of the Communist Party appears later than in Shooting Stars, and both dramas are not just about Communism; War of Faith is also about the economy, while Shooting Stars is about police work and justice.

To do so, however, she must first win the heart of Joseon King Lee Kyung. Lee Kyung grew up in a time of great political unrest and is less interested in matters of the heart – and more concerned with bringing peace to the realm.

Kang Eun Bo soon discovers that winning the king’s favor will not be easy; the royal court is also inundated with beautiful young women, many of whom hope to wed the king.

But when the king suddenly realizes that he recognizes Kang Eun Bo from a dream, the two begin to form an unlikely bond.
Will Kang Eun Bo ever find her twin’s killer? And could love bloom between the streetwise Kang Eun Bo and the idealistic king?

Both are about the female lead returning to their home town and ultimately finding love with a former classmate. Very heartwarming, simple, mature, and just plain beautiful love stories.

Both have supernatural, grim reaper like figures overseeing and existing amongst humans and guiding them in their memories and deaths. Both have love story between a lead that's a doctor and the other that's a grim reaper or similar sort of figure.

Both dramas are about high school love and goofy lives of teenagers but with a twist!

- Main stories of both dramas are set in near past (Reply - 1997; LR - 2008) and framed with current time. The near past element gives the story somewhat retro vibe
- Both dramas have mystery element (R - who is the husband?; LR - what lead to the tragedy that happened in current time?)
- Both female leads are energic, fun girls and also hopeless kpop stans
- Both male leads are good guys who fall first

Difference is in the stakes of the story. In Lovely Runner, the stakes are much higher as FL time travels back in time and tries to prevent several tragedies; in Reply the fantasy element is not there, these are just teenagers, living their lives
