the message of this whole show feels like a boomer telling that depression is made up and mental health problems don't exist.
the way they depicted suicide in this was very weird.
the issues yeejae faced were very relevant and true problems faced by many young adults which they could have tackled in a better manner. here they have shoved everything aside and said 'hey u have 2 people who care abt u'. yeejae was suffering so much and is in such a bad mental space, the current situation of the world drove him into death and death comes out all offended over him saying death is his way of escaping pain. a person who is considering suicide is not in the headspace to see through the fog in their mind. and in this show, the main reason they give for him to live is his mom and gf but by death's timeline they also die within a few weeks, so will it be okay for him to die then? yeejae, a person who worked hard all his life faces 12 punishments for his decision but an evil person like taewoo (who btw is responsible for almost all the deaths) gets to live comfortably for so long?
i really liked the plot of living through 12 different people and avoiding deaths and learning about their lives. even the way all 12 of them were connected to each other was amazing.
the drama could have worked better if the mc was someone evil who used death to escape punishment on earth OR if death was purely an evil entity who was just punishing him for entertainment. death was too preachy, always so superior. and her giving him a chance to re-live just destroys all the superior act she pulls in the series. i would have enjoyed her more if she was just pure evil.
im not saying suicide is the answer(it never is) but giving this as a solution to it? nah
the drama had so many familiar faces in it, it was a fun to see people pop-up here and there. all the actors did their characters full justice (even the baby)

The great villain grandma vs all rounder mom

First of all this drama isn't bad but it doesn't suits my taste. You'll say it's motherhood, female empowerment then why?
1)I liked the queen and her motives but which great mother doesn't know her 1st child is ill and constantly getting unconscious over a year ? doesn't know her 2nd child's preferences, favourite food or his intelligence/knowledge? Her 3rd child is transgender? Her 4th child is having affair? Her 5th child is good for nothing?( Well she was happy and proud for being mother of crown prince so she didn't cared about her other children at all!)And she didn't build a support system after being a queen over 20 years ? What's her difference between being a concubine? I've read comics , seen anime or other c/k/J every queen has her support system, power . Even a maid concubine is building support system!!! She ultimately jump from her comfort zone when crown prince was in dead bed and all of her other sons are turned into spoiled brats . Good thing the crown prince thaught his bro otherwise the queen umbrella have several pores , that could drenched her total family in blood.
Where was her boldness and persuading power when the king took 9+ concubines ?
the plot couldn't hold the grip from first to last either .......

2) empathize with everyone: yes knowing the motives of villains gives great pleasure but what if you get empathize with the mini villains more than the heros? And you got a big bad grandma who should enjoy her retirement as the biggest villainess !
What's about queen Yoon ? I don't blame the previous prince( doctor) too . If we got a movie from their perspective I'm sure I'd be biggest revenge drama ever . Or if it was time reverse drama it'd be more likable.
Just one jealous concubine and the dowger queen ( who's son is emperor) is the big shot here . And she died so piece fully without receiving proper punishment!
3) what's the point if the crown prince told about his disease earlier, if other physicians also taken care of him or that cruel dowger had killed the previous prince earlier the series wouldn't have happened! ?
4) unnecessary dragging of plot , it could have been easily warped up in 10-12 episodes......so what if one prince loves to dresses up as woman ? What if another has child born in wedlock? ...................you may like it . Personally it's not my piece of cake ......... disappointed over the high rating...

Become Predictable and Boring in the end.

I watched the whole series, but it didn't bring anything new or exciting. At first, it seemed promising, especially in how it explored the main character's story. When Vincenzo made a cameo, things got interesting. But then, it went downhill. The show became all about drama, ignoring other important storylines. Some scenes dragged on too long, with lots of unnecessary emotions and twists that didn't matter.

The show looked good with its camera work, acting, and music, but it had some big problems. The bad guy was shallow, just after money and power. And the main girl's family was portrayed as kind of dumb, which didn't make sense. The story was too predictable, following a basic pattern with choices that didn't seem real.

Berlin City Girl

Awwww, The ending still has an impact. I laughed, cried, enjoyed the great shots of Berlin and Frankfurt. It was exciting, touching and I was really well entertained for 16 episodes without a single hitch. Kim Soo-Hyun has been one of my absolute favorite actors since his Alien days. Not only does he have incredibly beautiful eyes, no, he is also a gifted actor. The main story was great, but so were the supporting actors - especially Park Sung-hoon as the villain torn apart by his obsession and the slightly naive and wonderful Kwak Dong-yeon as Hae-In's younger brother. I'm just not sure about Kim Ji-won. The way she played Hae-In almost had traits of personality destruction and I wondered what Baek Hyun-woo saw in her, apart from the fact that she is incredibly beautiful and rich, of course. It remains on her role in Lovestuck in the city, with her somehow cold and stiff manner. But, nevermind, this drama is one of the very, very best ???

Hit and miss

The movie was an interesting watch, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. While it was definitely weird, quirky, and campy, the humor and storyline could have been better fleshed out. Having watched the Chinese adaptation of the movie, I know the potential for hilarity and absurdity that this type of movie can offer, and unfortunately, this version of the movie didn't quite live up to that standard. Nonetheless, the movie did have its moments and the villain's plan was intriguing, despite not being explored in much detail. I'm looking forward to a potential sequel and seeing how the story develops.

A Flash In The Pan

Common tropes and cliches abound in this poorly executed story, leaving loose ends untied and logic sorely lacking. The characters make questionable decisions that do not ring true to their development, such as Hae In blindly trusting Eun Song despite obvious red flags. The lack of critical thinking, like Hae In not hiring a lawyer to protect her memory through a diary, undermines the believability of the plot. The character of Grace switching sides serves little purpose other than to conveniently aid one side with the progression of the story, without any real depth or consistency. Even Hae In's parents' lack of visitation after her treatment in Germany contradicts their supposed love and support for her after learning about her illness. The most ironic thing of all is how Hyun Woo had to cook for the commemoration of Hae In’s grandmother. Viewers were under an impression in the first episode that how stressful it must feel to be in this powerful family. Yet just as the story progresses further we can see they are actually clueless and powerless, with the entire family surrounds Hyun Woo’s bed just to listen to what plan he has for them to restore their family power.

Overall, this narrative fails both its audience and its cast with lazy storytelling and reliance on tired cliches.

had all the feels

this is part of my top favorites xianxia and wuxia cdrama Back to the Brink, Lost you forever, till the end of the moon, are probably my top three most favorite! although I enjoyed love between fairy and devil and I’m already halfway I just couldn’t finish it.. I don’t know why. Anyway the chemist from Back to the brink is so good, The only time I disliked Zhou ye the female lead was in her other drama I instantly dropped it (everyone loves me)

back to the brink had me bawling my eyes out, it also made me laugh numerous times, had so much butterflies during sweet moments, had me so mad with some effectively annoying antagonists.

The only thing I hoped for, some flashbacks kept of resurfacing, ending felt rushed. it was a happy ending but I hope they had more time to somehow made it more meaningful, seeing them reunite with friends, and the kiss was so short. other than those it was such a good xianxia cdrama.

An addictive and well thought out story.

When I first started this show, it felt a bit slow, I struggled through certain episodes because it felt quite long through some of them. Thankfully I've gotten through most of it and I will say it was definetly worth my time. At first, I was convinced that Munyeong's mother was Park Ok Ran, for the longest time it seemed possible. However, the twist of it being Park Haeng Ja was also a quick thought that I had. When it had happened however it still surprised me because it never really settled in much. Nearing to the end of it and I will say it is an extremely addicting Kdrama to watch!

Revenge mini-series, with the most flirting male lead ever

Series are ok to watch, with all the needed elements to keep you interested.
FL was cheated and almost killed by the boyfriend, ending up in a coma for very long time. Of course the ML was the bodyguard, always by her side, waiting patiently for her.
Interesting that during her coma, she was aware of everything what was going on around her, so when she woke up, she embarked in revenge against her fiancé and best friend.
While the situations were a bit exaggerated, they are ok to watch.
One of them.. every episode you can watch the ML either taking a shower, changing clothes or having an excuse to take out his shirt. Very confident man, for sure!
Villain fiancé is evil in a funny way… quite entertaining.
Overall, ok series that will keep you entertained.

Great acting, interesting story - ending both brilliant and lacking (Spoilers marked)

This series was extremely well done. The acting, all around, was great. The couples were cute, and the chemistry, when the story allowed for it, was awesome. The main couple, the Kim’s IRL, were, of course, stunning. Wow! And when they were getting along, they were so cute! But it is another Asian drama with so much trauma and sadness. We eagerly watched each episode since it was so well done, but we kept hoping for some extended period of happiness.

I feel sorry for the actor portraying Sun Song (Park Sung Hoon) because he did a great job of making you hate his guts! Ha ha. Obviously great acting.

Honestly, other than feeling bad for the ML and a couple of other characters, I did not get too emotionally attached to parts of the story, perhaps because so many characters were so bad for so long. Well, and some plot holes/irrational decisions. But that is all too common in these dramas, so it’s hard to focus too much on that aspect of the series.

The ending had brilliant elements, different than we had seen before. I loved the last few minutes in particular! That part of the story will stick with me for sure.

(Spoilers Here)
But the was lacking in that the post-reunion happiness was just not long enough! They should have cut out on traumatic story line and given us an entire episode of marriage and happiness. Dang that would have been great, and would have greatly increased our satisfaction with this series. It would have perhaps elevated the rating from us to a 9… or maybe a 10???
(End Spoilers)

BTW, I have heard folks were not happy with the Mercedes product placement bonanza. LOL - I loved it! Beautiful cars, made me jealous although I’m really a BMW guy. :-) Product placement in general is something I love since it makes the show seam more real and relatable. I mean, I can’t relate to owning a US$ 100,000 Mercedes, but I can relate to seeing cars and other products I have seen IRL. Bring on the Product Placement!

Chill Series

I really like the way they did not put too much cliff hangers and over all a chill series that make you fall especially Kim smile.
The way they are acting is so calm and composed. The story revolves around its main focus really and never became stray from its goal which you can witness it in the end.
Talk about Trust, Love, Lust, Understanding, Openness, and Time to Heal something that is broken and to move forward on what's to come

A mixture of emotions

It is one of the remarkable drama that I saw. I'm very vocal that I loved the drama Goblin in fact I re-watch it many times and still same enotions. I can say that it next favorite drama after Goblin. This drama is a perfect example of mixture of emotions, you will cry on heavy scenes later on you will laugh on comedic scenes, i think I need to see a psychologist when watching this it makes as crazy.
The writer really makes sure that we feel their emotions the characters. The Baekhong cuople really did their most excellent to makes us feel their loved in each other. This drama tells the realistic arguments of couples and on how to handle the circumstances that they encounter.
Both Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won really did their best in portraying their roles, they make us laugh and cry in the challenges they encounter in their relationship. Kim Soo Hyun really deserves an acting award as Baek Hyun Woo for he really makes us feel his pain towards his love for Hae In.
The casting is great, they all goes us a happy vibes both the the Queens family and the Yongduri family.
It has the best cinematography both shot in Germany and the location of Yongduri family is beautifully shot nicely.
It has the best soundtrack as well it makes us LSS. They picked the perfect songs, as you listen to then its like that you recognize it from the drama Queen of tears.
I hate Eunsong's character in the drama but I don hate Park Sun Hoon in fact I understat why is Eunsong act that way, he just loved Hae In so much that he doesn't know that they are suffocating them (too much love can kill you). He just wanted to be lovedall his life that her own mother fails to give him the love that he needed.
Very satisfying ending because they get back what truly that belongs to them. It has a perfect and realistic ending.

I HATED THE PART WHEN QIAN SENT YUAN AWAY and then regretted every single day after that, Qian wiping his room and keeping it tidy for him.... I mean he harbours deep issues, his bloody brain and headaches, his past w his mom and the time he worked in a gang to survive and all.

ANY SHORTCOMMINGS CAN BE OVERLOOKED W THE LAST TWO EPISODES, the hot steamy sex and the want the need the love and EVERYTHING WAS SO PERFECTTTTTTTTT.

Despite writing flaws, swoon-worthy romance with a touch of sorrow carried by super strong cast

Given its screenwriter and its main cast, I was expecting a lot from this drama. I overall really enjoyed it (especially in its first half) but I must admit that the writing and pacing let me down in its second half (and more particularly in its finale act). I'm always looking forward to the new work of screenwriter Park Ji Eun: I tend to really enjoy the way she builds her romances, with a lot of details, dramatic elements and fated lovers' narrative. Here again, she writes what I think is an iconic love story with a touch of sorrow, which is really her trademark.

The premise of the series is super interesting as it hijacked the classical "male chaebol & poor hard working girl" trope. I loved so much how lines that are usually said by male lead are done by the female lead and vice versa. The series is really playing on the usual tropes of romantic comedy and diverting them, it is excellent on that aspect. However, the ending did not totally hold its promises : the plot got crazier with an overwhelming amount of coincidences, the villains losing their strategic edge to go into full madness territory. As the story unfolds itself, there were also much less gender reversal of dramaland tropes and it went unfortunately back to a more classical romantic dynamic between the two leads. Still cute, but much more expected.

The acting was the best part of the drama. Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won and Park Sung Hoon are actors/actress that I really love and once again, they showcased incredible performances. Even when the writing became clunkier, they made it work and made a lot in terms of making digestible some of the more bonker elements and rhythm issues of the last act. The chemistry between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won was off the charts: their characters' relationship went through so many phases and they managed to sell every step of it. Park Sung Hoon's darkening and brooding face was incredibly chilling even when his character fell apart in terms of writing.

The production value was super high. There were some very pretty sets as well as incredibly swoon-worthy scenes (the helicopter one, the lavender field, the castle,...). The making was beautiful and above all, the soundtrack was amazing. With the acting, the OST did a lot in exacerbating feelings for the viewer. I will likely go back to listening to many of the songs of the drama which is clearly a sign of its addictive quality.

I would recommend this to people looking for an emotional love story. Given the episodes length, It is quite an investment in terms of time and there are some issues with the writing in the second half of the series. However, despite its flaws, I truly enjoyed the drama thanks to the incredible acting, great OST and iconic romantic scenes. If you loved other dramas from this writer (such as My Love From Another Star and Crash Landing on You), you are in known territory and should like it as well.

Perfectly calibrated, except pacing

This is exactly what you expect from a production with this type of budget, so lots of cute and fun rom com moments with some dramatic B plot stuff. They did draw out the chaebol drama, then rushed other more rich storyline, which is why I say the pacing needed improvement.
I'd love a spin off on Gwang Nam's next adventures, preferably rom com for him too.
