Impressive

My first thought about the drama was as it is 20eps, and historical drama there would be so much lag. But I am impressed at the pace story is going now. I was surprised that the suspense parts are also getting revealed without dragging it. Every charector here are soo good. Main leads Suho and Yeji are sooo pretty and cute together. Every time they are together i makes my heart warm. Nothing is rushed story getting intresting with the flow even the main villains etc are already revealed.

You can give it a try if you wanted to watch a history drama with thriller, comedy, Love with angst, kinda revenge elements in it then Missing crown prince is the best

She was the only green left but why?

Story (8): While the storyline may not be entirely original, the execution was commendable. However, I found myself grappling with certain discrepancies, particularly regarding the inconsistency in the colors. Despite the expectation of red and yellow to play pivotal roles in supposed saving the green, that did not happen. Furthermore, the unresolved fate of the main antagonist left the narrative with an open ending, lacking closure or justice.

Acting/cast (8.5): Lee Dong Wook's magnetic presence is always a highlight, serving as a major draw for me. Yet, beyond his charm, the entire cast delivered stellar performances. This marks my second encounter with Kim Hye Joon after "The Kingdom," although I admittedly couldn't recall her from there until I consulted her profile on MDL. Nonetheless, her portrayal in this series was memorable, particularly in action sequences where her performance felt natural and unforced.

Music (5): Unfortunately, I can't comment on the music as it didn't leave a lasting impression on me

Rewatch value (5): Typically, I don't find myself revisiting action series unless prompted by the release of a new season or a lapse in memory regarding the plot. While this series wasn't lacking in entertainment, it didn't offer any standout moments that would compel me to revisit it.

overall rate: I'd rate it an 8.5 out of 10. Despite the familiar plot elements, I have an inclination for this genre, and the proficient execution held my interest. Lee Dong Wook's involvement also adds to the appeal, and I'd be inclined to tune in for a potential second season, largely driven by his presence.

Why Autopsies Are So Necessary!

This is a fascinating look into the jobs of coroners and forensic scientists in Japan, where the fewest amount of autopsies are recorded of all developed countries in the world. Most death reported as “accidental” or by “natural causes” are never autopsied, thus leaving the door wide open for murderers. You can’t help but speculate how my deaths might be attributed to murder. Most bodies are cremated before they can ever reach an autopsy table, and there are many hurdles that must be jumped through, such as getting family consent.

Misumi Mikoto is the idealist coroner who firmly believes that her job brings piece of mind as well as closure and truth to the cases she works on. She works at UDI (Unnatural Death Investigations), a company subsidized by the government. They don’t necessarily work on police cases but as a private company that is paid by people who want further investigations done. She is the #2 coroner with a troubled past. While her job doesn’t pay much, she’s very good at what she does. She also tends to wear her heart on her sleeve.

Mr. Nakado is the #1 coroner of the group, and we find out that he’s been suffering in anguish for over 8 years since his girlfriend was found dead in a scrap pile. He somehow performed the autopsy himself (not sure how anyone would be able to do that). After finding a “goldfish” imprint inside of her mouth, he firmly believes his girlfriend was murdered and possibly by a serial killer. He tries to check every body he can find for the same “goldfish” evidence with the hope of catching the killer. He barks at everyone, notoriously renowned for calling people, “stupid.” He’s incredibly smart and gifted despite his sour demeanor.

Finally, we have Kube Rokuro who is the new part-timer, who has a desire to be a forensic doctor. However, we quickly find that he’s working at UDI under false pretenses (selling the secrets and stories of what happens at UDI) to a local newspaper, which acts more like a tabloid. However, after finding himself engrossed in the job as well as being smitten with Dr. Mikoto, we begin to wonder how Rokuro will be able to get out of his dilemma, if at all.

The series is an important one. Japan is a generally peaceful country where people try their best to live in harmony. They don’t like to “rock the boat” and will do nearly anything to maintain that harmony, even it means avoiding any kind of confrontation. However, true harmony can never be achieved by turning your back to what is going on; by avoiding confrontation. How can harmony be experienced at the expense of others? I can’t be. It’s an impossibility, and this is largely the reason why this show exists. With only 170 coroners in Japan, they’re desperately trying to get more as well as to change the government policies surrounding autopsies and why they are so vitally important.
While the serial killer story was a fascinating one, my favorite episode was actually the bullying, or as the boy rightfully called it, “Death by Bullying.” This was an especially powerful episode that brings a world-wide problem to the forefront. The UDI group race to solve the “murder” of a young high school teen in order to prevent the death of another. However, we quickly find that nothing is as it seems, and the school as well as the other students involved, realize their horrible mistake; allowing the bullying to happen. Yes, where bullying takes place, everyone is involved, and everyone is responsible. I truly hope people take this episode to heart.

There was only one season of this fantastic show, which is easily better than any “CSI” series I’ve seen, and should be given more seasons. I sure hope a second season is in the works! Not only is the science fascinating but you gotta love the people of UDI!

SAME STORY FROM THE OTHER BUT MANY LESSONS AND ENTERTAINING

I have watched so many dramas before and some of them were a Medical Drama like this one. I watched the dubbed version of my language so that I may understand it more. I am entertained of this drama from the beginning to the end, it gave me the excitement the whole time and wanting to watch and know more whats going to happen next from first to last episode. It was never a boring one from beginning to start , everything that left a question in my mind and I got curious about was answered by the end of this drama in short everything was revealed good until the end.
Since This is a medical drama I am curious why is it always that Korean medical dramas have this plot that there is someone who is a very talented Doctor who was thrown out from that famous hospital and suddenly comes back and always have a rival that is the Leader of the famous Hospital .. ? it is good anyways, but what I am trying to imply is that the story is somehow not really new to me.
Never mind the Acting, we all know that Korean Actors acts really different and convincing than of any other Asian actors and dramas our there, But I am quite disappointed to Master Kim by the last part, it was is good that he fought against President Do but he seems so relax so arrogant and seems think so much high of himself at the most part of this drama, and he even punched the President Do on the face but why was it the he was so late to speak about the truth ? --- that he was not the real reason of the failed surgery from 14 years ago ? I mean he should have used all of the arrogance he has and the confidence he was showing to his subordinates or team to clear his name ! why does he have to let Dr Kang and others left in state of having a question what really has happened in the past ? I was so impressed by Master Kim's coolness as he always does a good job in the ER and surgeries but quiet disappointed to what the writer has made him by the end.
And the Part where Dr. Kang finally knew that it was Master Kim decision why his Dad died , If I were Dr, Kang I would have never wanted to see Master Kim again like, of all the hardship Kang Dong Joo did , passing the board exam determined to be a good doctor because of Master Kim's words when he was a high school student-- all of it seems non sense and out of point, it was really heavy at the start but it suddenly loose sence at the end the he just accepted those truth and did not hated master KIm enough just because he is a Doctor and he understands everything why Master KIm did it. A About Dr Yoon I did not saw anything special about her here, she was just a Doctor who wants and dreams to join master Kim in a surgery and she is a good Doctor by the way.
All in all it was good not boring , the patient situations are really heartfelt and I cried many times watching them. I must say that every aspiring Doctors in real life must watch Dramas like this so that they would not just do their jobs but to do them with sympathy and that they also should have that one motto of being doctor.... it is to save lives no matter what,

Nice enough!

It took me a while to start this as I wanted to distance myself from these lead actors due to my familiarity with the roles they had played in Love and Redemption. Years later with a fresh (or forgotten) mind I finally pressed play and I must say it’s certainly not bad at all!

The leads are very likeable, both together and on their own. I liked the polar opposite personalities within Qing You, (her drunk and not drunk selves), and I liked the consistency in Mr. Mo’s personality no matter the circumstances. Their romance is very sweet and mature- no silly misunderstandings or needless temporary breakups. The side characters and side couples however are very disinteresting and I truly didn’t care for anything going on there.

It definitely could have done better with 24 episodes instead of 30, but overall I’d call it an average or fine show. I’d maybe only recommend it to people early into their drama-watching careers as it may fair better there. Once you’ve seen so much in this genre, shows like Love at Night can become/seem very disposable.

While it probably won’t stay in my mind for long, I was able to binge-watch it and enjoy it for the most part.

A slow burn love tale

Fan of Bella and Her Beast Charming still makes people believe in fairy tales. But are today's version enough to pop our heart out.

Park Do Ra is an actress who is not willing to work for the upcoming project of a doomed producer. As he keeps on pestering, she keeps on running away. And the story deals with the peeka book.

Highs of the drama

1. The freshness of an unusual pair. Im Soo Hyang paired with Ji Hyun Woo is treat for eyes. Their soft banter, usual hit miss add lightness which pulls romantic stories.

2. Performance delivered by leads as well as additional casts are gem. Every performance deserves an applaud as it is not easy to bring in quirkyness in a myshy romance.

Lows of the drama

1. The story itself is the biggest flaw. It is like watching a concoction of different romantic stories in one go. There's nothing new. Audience already knows how love will happen.

2. Lack of surprise element in the story till far is making the story a drag. Not a single twist has been enough to put smile.

3. Music plays big role in winning audience heart. The background score is not enough to ring in ears even after end of the episode.

“ I would give up the whole world just to see her smile.” - probably Donglai

Another drama done, because these are short and I have been beasting through them like crazy. Okay doing the average rating. The average is a surprisingly high 8.025 out of 10. so 8 out of 10. This was something and not in a good way. Let's break it down. I am sorry for any inappropriate things I say in this, bro, because these subtitles were bonkers and anything I say is like 10x worse in the drama. A lot of people couldn't find subtitles on IQIYI. Bitch, are you blind? If it's not there, just click the subtitles button. I now feel empty without this drama. This is a very long review.

Starting off with the first episode, what the actual fuck happened. I was so confused. There had to be a prequel for this because I was so fucking confused. Let me check, actually, because I don't even know. This stands alone; that is bonkers. Okay, starting off there is this rich-cripped guy, who I later find out is Donglai. and he was in love with this girl, who is Zhong Ling, and she has a kid who has diabetes or something, and she keeps stalking him, and the kid sees him, and he takes him back to like his house and thing, and my girl Zhong was like, Oh fuck my kid and my kids dad, aka my baby daddy, from 6 years ago, and she talks to him. already going very fast for something i was very confused about. Then Donglai toxic cripple ass gets mad and then he starts strangling her for leaving him like this, but in reality, she didnt want to leave and the girl who has had the same outfit on for the past SIX FUCKING YEARS told them to break up, Xia Xi, and she listened. okay so she only listened because donglai wouldn't be saved otherwise, which is relevant and very important to all of this but we didn't find that out until later and whatever. I was talking about how there had to be more background in that because it didn't make any sense, but then again, it was the first episode, and it was only 14 minutes. But the moral of that is to read descriptions and not just actively look for short dramas, because this is what you are going to end up with.

I was still confused as a mother fucker; they are dropping so many random ass people and i dont kno what to do or what to think. That girl who broke them up, Xia Xi, is still being as problematic as possible. I think that donglai is somehow going to give him the ability to walk again because that's how things seem to be going. random asses who are making him jealous. and charge his mom with assault and curse him for not standing up for her. I was right about most of this but the mom wasn't charged, but Xia Xi was, rightfully so.

I still very confused, and im trying to do ap lit, but the episodes keep going by so fucking fast that i cant. that was all the important information we got from those 10 minutes, and the fact that the girl who broke them up is still being a problem and a big back baby bitch, please just leave her alone, and why does he keep assaulting her? like what?

So all of the problems and stuff that is happening is that girl who broke up with the rich guy's fault. it was all her fault—actually everything. the truth is gonna come eat her ass and not nicely bro. Okay and whose child was the girl? I still have no idea what that random other child was or who they were. the truth came out and ate her ass.

She got kicked out of her house, and they are still trying to rekindle some lost feelings, and then they start fighting again. They can definitely get through this because they are smiling and happy. I understand her not wanting to tell him who the child is, but just tell him, bro, we need to further along the plot faster. and that girl getting sexually assaulted. by that random guy, Karmas a bitch, maybe not do illegal stuff then, not justifying it though. fuck xia xi, shes a bitch.

Okay like a few hours later and a nap i have come to finish this. Donglai is so handsome until he opens his mouth, like keep that pretty mouth shut for one second please. like you are still in love with her, bring down those walls and let her back in you pick me bitch. and when he passed out in episode 6, how did he get to the bathroom without his wheelchair? i'm very confused and the guy who left them alone together is the number one wingman. He definitely hit his head coming down, bro. Okay, uh, that's it really. This episode is like the cover of the iqiyi thing, which is fun. and when did he get his surgery? and how the fuck did no one know? he has people on him so much someone had to be lying and just didnt tell anyone.

This show stay stressing me the fuck out. Xia Xi was ruining everything with all her fucking dumb ass bitch ass ways bro. stressing me out for no fucking reason.

she almost ratted on herself with the pregnancy thing bro. That was crazy and him being into pregnant women at the start was crazy oh my lord. she just loves to talk and he loves to just make her mad and she fully alost rated herself out in like the 8th episode, would have spared us all of that fucking trouble holy shit. xia xi and the red haired guy were dating? or parents in crime. I still have no idea bro. Our main couple needs to figure their shit out because this is stressing me out more the aps bro. Please. And I think the dad messed up his legs on purpose to make him rely on them more. He did have something to do with it because he just needed surgery and got the feeling of his legs back, so I guess not.

She just ripped a paternity test. That’s gotta be all types of illegal. Someone with common sense would know that but i guess not.you can’t intercept stuff like that and then rip it in the hospital, that's like illegal. You can’t do that, that's illegal actually illegal. They are getting closer though which is good.

I called the part where he got his legs back. I literally called that though it was so obvious I love him back to life and surgery and also the Director did not expect him to be a bad guy, but like I kind of expected it as soon as he gave her this orange ass water And I think feel bad for the kid because he’s actually struggling and he just wants mom and dad and grandma and grandma cunt. Everything about this show is so problematic holy shit. No one likes the director get rid of him and ruin that bitch. Poor girl bro she actually is the best character in this hell hole why did he do that. I now have my headline for this OK I take it back whatever the fuck the rich guys name is and our main character are very cute together and I love them because he’s like actually cares about her instead of just like oh she’s an object she’s a toy he actually cares with her and I think that’s really really cute. And he was so willingly to give up everything for her to bring her to justice. cute, we have a ring. I am still in Apush right now. uh i am almost done. She's already having a hard time forgiving him, and he is already going back into the no-nothing, but he does have the right to know if he is the father to his child. yeah.

I am writing this as I watch the episode. I am on the fence about whose side I am on. At the same time, he has the right to know, but at the same time, she doesn't want him to take the one thing she left. and now they are kissing in this sh*t ass rain that looks fake as dick balls. This bitch, what is he doing? Why is he walking away? Whore, whore, he is a whore. This is why she didn't want you to know. You are a cute little big-back bitch. she has been a single mom for all this time Cut her some slack, holy sh*t. Donglai is going crazy with all these wackass people; never mind, he is a wackass. He gets to make his own call, but, bruh, you are acting like a child now. We have, like, 15 minutes left. Please get your sh*t together. Now she is chasing him. fuckers. annoying ass. mu chen d1 bro. okay and we had a 7-day gap. Something bad definitely happened; they are getting on my nerves. annoying every last one of them. She's going to get hit by a car. Nevermind, I am just morbid. Where is Kele? And why is the house going to sh*t? Oh sh*t, he's right there. Girl, clean up your fucking house. This kid needs to not open the door to strangers, bro. Whatever the fuck the actor's name is, through Mu Chen, he definitely likes Zhong Bro. She can't find the necklace; bruh, didn't you lose that like 7 episodes ago? bruh. This kid is a snitch. and she is leaving because, of course, she is. he found the necklace okay

I am writing this one as I go along because I am trying to finish this sh*t and get it done. still in a rush because I am a beast at this. Oh, the besties are talking. if only they could talk stuff out, but I guess not. Let's bring this home, please. Bruh, there is no time to be thinking you have 7 minutes left. We don't need all of these damn flashbacks of when you were happy; just be happy now, please. Also, this class ends in like 7 minutes, so I guess I will write the review in drawing and painting. Whatever the fuck the guy name is growing on me because he is lowkey bad. like bad in a sexy way. Sorry Chloe. In like 10 minutes, I have not checked any of this grammar. King, where are you? Come get your girl and your child before they leave. They are leaving. ugh annoying. and they are on the plan. What is he doing? Bruh, is he going with them? What is happening? Okay, now I am the confused one. Aww, the necklace. "Bruh got a full DBQ in the review." carl. Let's bring it home, please. They are going on a honeymoon? I am so confused. He's going to propose. I CALLED IT BRUH. Why is this so awkward? And why is he so far away? Yay, good for them. They could have done this ending better because, what the fuck? awkward ass kiss. bruh shity ass ending holy shit. and it's done. and class is over. Don't waste your time on this dumb ass shit. Okay bye!

The Show was Good, Subtitles Not So Much

In the vibrant tapestry of Thai series, “A Secretly Love” stands out as a gem, weaving a tale of unspoken desires, tangled relationships, and personal growth against the backdrop of school life. At the heart of this narrative lies the magnetic performances of Kimmon Warodom, one of the best actors in the Thai entertainment industry, whose portrayal of Pluem captivates audiences with its depth and nuance.

A Supernatural Thriller that Surprises

Yet again a ghost story, that was what I thought!

A supernatural suspense thriller, Joo Won stars as Seo Ki Joo, a 7th generation photographer who runs a small photo studio, which specializes in storing the last memories of the dead. The camera he uses for this taunting task was stolen by his ancestor, as such it is a cursed object and the descendants belonging to Seo family line bear the brunt of the curse. They are unable to live beyond 35 years and die in mysterious ways. The overall synopsis spells the ordeal faced by our main lead on a daily basis. Imagine what he has go to through when a crazy attorney who was fired from her job is added to this mix. “The Midnight Studio” weaves a subtle romance in the midst of horror and supernatural suspense. Both the main leads have their own set of problems; Ki Joo lives from day to day hoping to survive while leading the dead souls to their salvation, Han Bom (Kwon Na Ra) is busy finding jobs while being ostracized in her own field. As each case unfolds, the storyline turns into a gripping tale of long-lost love & reconciliation.

Small town, busy people

I want to give proper value to the production team because technically speaking this is a wonderfully made story, with lot of attention put into the detail. The first thing that caught my attention was the sound mixing, which easily created a slice of life vibe, set in the rural location. There's almost no soundtrack use during important scenes, choosing the surroundings over it. The sound of the ocean, the cicada, a dog barking. It all completes the story.

The characters wear barely any make up, their clothes are something any of us would wear during the summer, which goes perfectly with the lack of interest in superficial aesthetic.

The drama lives and dies with the performances. The actors are the heart of the story and they deliver on creating a close-knit society in the small town their characters all grew up.

At first, I thought I was in for a slice of life sport story about friendship, love and overcoming personal struggles but to my surprise there was a murder mystery thrown in the middle.

I understand why the writer of this drama used this troupe to point out some toxic behaviour from society, our prejudices and the damage gossip can do to a person's life. Sadly, I think the main story suffers from it and deviates of its strongest points which is the relationship between the six main characters with each other.

Overall, this is a very quiet and rustic story with some solid performances but easily forgotten among many others dramas that have done this before and better.

so messy but quite interesting storyline

there’s so many things I wish to say about this show. mostly aren’t good ones.

good points:
- interesting storyline
- Liu Yuning song

heard that it’s based on donghua. the assemble is good and interesting.

bad points:
- cringey
there are some parts are so cringe, e.g. the father & son scenes, some scenes supposed to be serious but it’s just cringe.
- Wu Geng
yes, the main character himself. he’s one of the main reason why I’m just frustrated. his character buildup is lacking and he doesn’t seem to have his own power? after losing his colorless realm, it seems he’s relying on others to give him power. that’s why the end when he’s the mortal god of war, it’s just a disappointing moment.
- RJL’s line delivery
honestly, this is my first drama from him. and his line delivery is really poor. be it angry or frustrated, his tone is the same. and it’s his own voice (have watched F&E, now I know how he sounds like)
- Bai Cai
honestly, she’s redundant. period. had enough with her A gou.
- RJL hairstyle
why why why?
- underutilising Hei Long
dude is such a hottie, and his presence giving me Voldemort-ish. why he only appear at the start and the end? such a waste!

characters that stood out:
- Shi Xing
- Xinyue Kui
- Zha Zha and his father (their scenes were just lol)

The actors, mostly Mew, kept this show afloat.

Tbh, if Mew wasn’t in this, I would’ve dropped it by ep2. And it feels like that’s what the producers aimed for, that Mew was enough that they didn’t need a good story. Beside the fact it took 5 episodes for the main couple to even speak to each other, their “romance” was so rushed, it was practically nonexistent. By ep10 when P’Uno left and he & Daebyeol had to reminisce about each other, they showed the exact same 3 moments cause THATS ALL THEY HAD. Like, there were not enough romantic-heavy moments for them to suddenly “be in love with each other since the moment they met.” Like, are you kidding me?? The producer woman pissed me tf off I can’t believe they decided to work with her at the end. And the part-timer that outed them, whyyyyy was he still working there in the end????? And so many plot points that came out of nowhere and then went nowhere??? For what sounded like a cute concept, the execution was done so poorly. I feel bad for Mew and the rest of the cast, they deserve a better production than this.

Confusing missed opportunity

The idea of a Korean-Thai crossover was really interesting but it fell flat. Knowing that Mew was one of the lead actors, I was excited to watch the show. It was a fun watch but there was no real story. Not sure if the format of such short episodes orevented any growth or deep storyline and the "scandal" was not an issue.

A Ghost of a Good Time

I placed a potential spoiler at the end of this review.

I am a sucker for supernatural storylines and this was really up my ally. This is one of those series that has a great script that successfully connects multiple storylines and characters together. They did a great job in the beginning of the series with introducing the characters. It also had a few twists that I didn’t see coming through out. I enjoyed watching this but admit some of the sections felt rushed and the last episode was a little off. The actors were great and did an incredible job with their characters. The special effects and cinematography were awesome.

******Potential Spoiler Alert******

Although the ending was mostly happy with most of the characters, the set up was not the greatest. There is a time jump forward, then backwards, and then back to the jump forward. I know they wanted to create suspense with this but wished they did a better job with it.
