O melhor?!

Jung So Min, a melhor amiga e traidora da nossa protagonista.

Terminado: 20/03/2024.

is it what we expected it to be ?

this show is still on going so my review is limited to ep 13 .

So i d like to discuss the plot, or what was revealed of it untill now:
The story of going back in time , being reborn, getting a second chance in life , is very washed out , specially in asian shows, however i wouldnt say it s a disadvantage to the popularity of the show , but i personally wasnt drawn to watch this serie because of that , so it wasnt a plus to the popularity of the show either.
Also , marriage , affairs , and revenge are elements that form a classic combination, but a veryyy attractive one . we all like a saucy show. so i d say that this was the magnet point for me . i was anticipating how Ji Woon would establish justice and use her second life to turn the tables around to a more fair destiny, but as i was watching , i was overwhelmed by Soo Min s attitude and schemes, so i started to look forward to that even more. i m being very subjective here by the way , i could b feeling this way because i m more inclined to villain roles , or because Soo Min overpowered Ji won .
Honestly speaking , Soo Min managed to get a strong reaction out of me every time she was in the camera frame, whilst i felt that Ji Won was too slow to transition from the pathetic victim to the strong vendetta character. ...Which is understable , but as a viewer i couldnt help but be disappointed by her fragility. ...Now , dont get me wrong , i m not all against a soft fragile character, but episode 1 came off so strong , it summed up a vey miserable life and a very pitiful death , which i think was enough to fuel Ji Won s anger and toughen her as soon as she got her second chance in life. for example , after the school reunion , Ji Won found out everything that Soo Min did, but her reaction was so poor.

The toxic dynamics between So min and Ji won is the best part for me. Soo Min acting creepy , despicable and just dirty made no sense from ep1 to ep12, we had to wait till ep 13 to understand her motive, which was a typical overstretched motive , a very kdrama style motive if you get what i mean. Yet , i d like to congratulate whoever wrote that , because instead of settling down with the jealous friend scenario , they went a little deeper and introduced a new link which is stepsisters , this highlights the notion of " other half" that was repeated throughout the episodes.

Ji Woon and her cheating boyfriend didnt get much attention from me , maybe because the cast didnt seem to have chemistry? We werent heartbroken to see him cheating on her because it felt very expected seeing how he was a terrible boyfriend since the begining .
But the boyfriend and Su Min r a verryyy entertaining pair, as a forbidden relationship, then as the puppets in Ji Won's master plan, then finally as crime accomplices .They r very enjoyable to watch.

Ji Won and Mr Yu 's romance is average really, typical kdrama style, male lead loves female lead since younger years , then they reunite and so on . But of course, just like every one else, i look forward to their moments together, and root for Mr Yu to defend and miraculously save Ji Won everytime, which eventually does happen , because again the love line is very classic so as not to say expected .

Mr Yu 's fiancé is a newly introduced character . Was she necessary to the progression of events? i cant say until the show ends. But i m curious to see , whether she s the variable in Ji Won 's second life , or she embodied the role of someone else from Ji Won 's first life . Because from what i understood, the fate of the people doesnt change, it just gets swapped with someone else's, So whose fate does this fiancé hold now?

What bothered me though, is JI Won giving up on Mr Yu when she found out he was engaged. which again accentuates her weak personality, and pisses me of as a viewer lol. She has seen the blue heart on his chest, why is she ignoring a crucial sign that indicates how strong their bond is? instead she went back to square one, victimizing herself and villainizing Mr Yu , as if he betrayed her ?? i think Ji Won had enough reasons to hold onto him no matter what the consequences were going to be.

Not to forget the supporting roles and their sub plots , who in my opinion , were definitely a positive addition to the show, with a wide variety of emotions , from humorous to sad,

Ms Yang being the receieving end of the tragic fate of Ji Won was the perfect turn of events. The way i see it is , Ji Won was giving the second life to make decisons and actively act upon them to prevent the tragedy . She was not meant to inflict or cause the tragedy , which is why it wouldnt make sense if Su Min was the one who gets her fate. So , now that Mrs Yang is the one concerned, Ji Won will get the chance to make the moves she couldnt in her previous life, she now can correct those sad events as if they were hers, which we can see in the preview of ep 14, where she ll possibly stand up for Mrs Yang and prevent her death.

Overall, despite how generic the plot may sound, it has a few interesting twists .The end of the show can either boost up our favorable reaction with an unexpected closure, or keep our feet on the ground with a common finale.

Life reboot

I am a sucker for time slip tropes so as soon as this finished airing and after checking that the ending is probably to my liking, I went for it. I won't lie to you, I binged it in three days but eventually I did not like it so much. There are a lot of issues I have with it.

The story is quite straightforward: two people leading boring unhappy lives are given a chance for a redo of the last ten years. How are they going to deal with the knowledge? Are they going to use it to correct past errors? Spoiler alert: they do of course! Otherwise what's the point of this drama?!? And so the doormat FL stands up for herself and comes up victorious!

The drama is fun to watch. There are a few tropes that do not go the usual revenge, makjang mode so that was rather refreshing. The chaebol grandfather and his lawyer are not the usual evil heads out to ruin our FL. They turn out to be kind and reasonable. But they could not do away with this cliché completely with the appearance with the psycho ex girlfriend. Mostly, the support characters were the usual clichés: jealous, greedy, bullying... And the glasses issue: ugly with them, drop dead gorgeous without them. We are still doing that? Of course they are kitted out with the most ugly and the least becoming models of glasses otherwise, the change is not obvious enough!

The change in the main characters' personalities is just as obvious: they both went from doormats to smart people who stand up for themselves and won't be beaten down. And even though the FL becomes cocky and looses her newly acquired smarts towards the ending, making idiotic mistakes, she comes back rather quickly!

The main support characters were more interesting: the joyful sister, the unassuming boss, the regretful cook (with a beautiful smile) and the quiet but powerful lawyer.

The first major issue I have with the plot is the time travel aspect: it was never explained who the mysterious taxi driver was? Are there any other cases like theirs? How are they chosen? Probably, the person needs to hit rock bottom and die in order to be offered a reboot! What is the significance of the heart? Was the time travel offered by her dead father (who was the taxi driver for ML)? I guess, one should not think too much about the logic when talking about time manipulation! I hoped to get an even cursory explanation at the end. Nothing! I was also surprised that the leads never wondered about the hows and the whys of their reboot! The aspect of the reboot I liked was the way their fate was transferred onto others and how they fought to save their friends from that fate!

The second major issue I have is the cast: Park Min Young looks too sleek and smooth to be true. People say she abuses of plastic surgery. I hope not but she has changed a lot over years and here she looks so artificial and even older than her age. Her face is pretty much expressionless: she can smile and cry but nothing else moves. Na In Woo looks like a very tall kid next to her. There is supposed to be an age gap (3-4 years tops!) between them but it looks much more!

Everything considered, this is a fun and a very forgettable watch. Things happened, but I cannot think of much now and I actually wonder what did they fill these 16h with? It went by and it was not too boring, so I guess something must have happened! This was Park Min Young's show from the first to the last minute. Unfortunately! LOL

Wow! What a convoluted story, and not in a good way.

My rating on this was all over the place. I can pretty much suspend disbelief when I watch a drama, but this was like watching a telenovela, with over-the-top characters, consequences for evil too long in coming, and don't even get me started on the "is this my fate? Is it your fate? What do I have to do to correct my fate? Maybe if I try this..." It's fate, for the love of Pete, you're not supposed to be able to figure it out! My rating started pretty high, the story was interesting, and the acting was fun, for the most part. However, when Ha Ye Ji showed up in episode 12 onward, my rating fell like a rock. It was like they had determined that they didn't want to finish the story at 12 episodes, so let's add another random psycho to the mix. The only reason this drama even got the rating from me that it did is that it redeemed itself in the end with a wedding (can we just talk about how stunning her dress was?), and children, rather than the usual hurried final 15 minutes.

I love Park Min Young, but have you ever noticed how, in addition to the ridiculous amount of product placement, they continually show her hands? It's like they are their own version of product placement. Granted, her hands are beautiful, but come on. I hope that in future roles she gains some of her weight back, because even after she went back in time, she looked entirely too thin. Her character in her original life was pathetic, and in her new life, there were so many times I wanted to tell her to grow a spine. Why continue to say the guy is your boyfriend when he obviously gives you the creeps? I guess it gets back to her trying to make fate work in her favor.

Na In Woo as Ji Huyk. I've never seen this actor in anything else, but BOY was his character boring! Bad hair, bad glasses, bad suits, pretty much one expression throughout.

Chemistry between leads - for me, I didn't feel the chemistry at all. I did appreciate that they took time to talk to one another, that they supported each other, and they planned things together. That said, I didn't believe the romance. Kisses were okay (not dead fish kisses), but to me, this relationship didn't bring the heat.

Now, for chemistry, I thought Lee Gi Kwang as Chef Eun Ho and Choi Ghu Ri as Hee Yeon were precious together. I LOVED her energy. I would have liked to have seen more of them.

STANDOUTS - Lee Yi Kyung as Min Hwan and Song Ha Yoon as Soo Min. Oh, my goodness, they brought the passion, the pathos, the greed, and the degeneration into insanity. His anger was scary, honestly. And I normally don't like actresses that scream, but her out-of-control screams here were excellent. The cat and mouse game they played throughout the drama was very entertaining...what will they do next? Just when you think someone can't sink any lower, they prove you wrong.
Oh, and I loved the BTS songs and BTS references. Very cleverly done.

Show de atuação

A história me prendeu muito e achei bem pensada.

Someone missed something by a mile......

I'll keep this extremely short like the series should have been...... THE cast and plot drew me in, since I am a sucker for time travel and revenge plots....... and loved the first half .

BUT to be honest the build up was pretty anti-climatic. Not to divulge the spoilers or details the "revenge" is a little misleading , this is more of a 2nd chance kinda story. There is a lot of chaos in the story with vague "logical" travel rules, too many side stories which felt a little forced specially after the introduction of EX......well.....
.....
.....One line "Lost Potential".

so much yapping but the storyline is great

First of all, i'd like to mention that I have read the webtoon of this kdrama. And honestly, the storyline itself was great, however, I was disappointed that they casted Park Min Young out of all the actresses, since the main point of the webtoon was "an ugly duckling who has a beautiful best friend becomes gorgeous". With Min Young in this kdrama, they really failed with this, at least they could have tried harder. All they did was give her glasses and tie her hair in a ponytail, not to mention that her clothes were considered "ugly" in the kdrama but she was literally wearing fashionable office clothes with heels and later on just changed it into formal dresses. So casting a beautiful actress is weird when the best friend who was considered a goddess was on the same level of pretty. Just two pretty actresses in a kdrama, and that kind of beat the point of the webtoon and it was funny watching it and the kdrama producers trying to convince us that this girl is ugly because of her glasses and a ponytail.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the other casting. All of them did an amazing job especially the villains. I just thought they did an amazing job at immersing themselves in this role. Also, the ML was amazing too, at first I thought that he was pretty far of from the webtoon but the more I watched it the more I liked it. I can see why he was casted.

Even though it was interesting, I was very bored at most scenes with the main couple. All they did was talk talk yapp yapp talk talk and the FL cry and talk nonstop. I just don't understand, there was literally no point of them making them talk so much boring stuff for like 10minutes straight and then make them cry afterwards.

I was also quite sad that the producers missed the opportunity to carry this drama with side couples. Literally none of the side couples had a normal screen time nor an ending.

All in all, I did enjoy the storyline itself, they made this kdrama surprisingly interesting to the very end, however, the constant talking and crying really made it weak. Other than that, I believe casting Park Min Young was pretty stupid for such a role lol, although the casting for others were amazing.

girl gets her bestfriend and cheating husband back, KARMA IS REALLLL

When I tell you, from start to finish I was soooo deeply invested in this story. I remember first finding out about this story through webtoon, people posting screenshots of a woman who has cancer finding her husband cheating on her with her childhood best friend. Its so deeply fried inside my brain that even though I’ve never read the webtoon, I still remember thise screenshots of the story.

And then when I heard its getting a live action? DUDE YES!

Like not one episode was boring.

I saw a lot of people dropped the show because they didn’t like the male lead, but honestly ever since I saw him in Mr.Queen I literally thought he was so handsome, and seeing him get a role that’ll get him recognised made me so happy! And I believe he did a very well job and I enjoyed his scenes with Jiwon.

Alright so overall, really good revenge plot- everything was just so satisfying. The thing is, I LOVE, time travel and revenge plots- and these two being mixed together?! Literally best thing ever. I promise you, you won’t regret watching this. Though the show isn’t a ten for me because there are some plotholes, like, they never explain why Jiwons fate fell on her ex boyfriend and not on Sumin? I guess Sumin always had her own fate of ending up in jail I guess?

Also I guess you could say the way things ended in the end were a lil TOO perfect, like how did everything just fall into place perfectly ? Everyone who was single had a partner and got married and has kids like?? But I digress, I was really happy for Jiwon because holy shit, she really deserved the happy ending after going through all of that.

ALSO, was the ex manager (forgot his name but the guy who was an asshole at work), did he turn gay in the end? Because wdym he found his true self after love failed him….? I won’t jump to conclusions here but since this K-Drama is filled with villains, the least one I expected to have a redemption arc was the manager and it was so wholesome! I guess the ex classmates too but if I’m being honest their presence in the story wasn’t that special, when they showed up again I literally forgot who they were until I saw the girl in the middle and I memorised her cus she’s pretty lol…

Okay that’s all, I think the story was so cool- I wasn’t bored and I was so excited to wait for the new ep every time. If you’re like me and love revenge plots (as well as time travel), this is your show!!!

This is mostly a very satisfying watch.

Generally I don't like revenge-makjang dramas, but I like Park Min Young. I thought, let's just give this a go, worst case scenario I'll just drop it after a while. Overall this is a very pleasant surprise. The whole plot works a lot better than anything else I've seen in this genre before, mostly because villainous transgressions get quick -and smart- paybacks almost every single time and these are very satisfying & overall well written. Outside of Boa's questionable acting the cast did a phenomenal job as well and the whole thing is just very decently done, the production values are really up there with the best. So why is it not a 10 you might ask? In the second half there were 2-3 weak, messy episodes where the plot fell apart a little bit, though the drama managed to recover from these & wrapped up nicely too.

has both old-kdrama romance, thrill and revenge ... satisfying, enjoyed every episode

I loved almost every kdrama of PMY, so far. And, she rarely disappoints in choosing the best. Marry my Husband did not only have a promising story line and concept. But, the cast is every bit adorable and did great portraying each character.
I would gladly watch them do anything for another four episodes. They are that loveable.

This drama has one of those nice mixtures of original and cliché elements. It has, also, this old-kdrama feel-good side, especially at the beginning (partly because it's Park Min Young). But, it doesn't become repetitive and boring at the end. I love how it's engaging till the last episode.

In this show, there is a clear distinction between the good and evil people, without feeling cliché, unrealistic or exaggerated.

Spoilers!!!

My only complaint is the misunderstanding and the rift they created between the main leads at the middle of the story. They could've at least made her know the ex-fiancée wanted her man, after he became her man. She should not have felt so much guilt. I would had loved if they have handled the "not wanting affairs because my parents had affairs" differently. I may have been a little inattentive in those episodes. But, their feelings and thoughts are so complicated and implicitly said, that if you don't repeat the episodes over and over, you get the impression that "they find it had to not pursue love, despite the fact that their parents hurt them by doing it". The writing on the breakup was a little sloppy.

end of spoilers!!!

But, I am nit picking because this is one of the best dramas I have seen in the couple past years.
This is not all fluff, and has some pretty dark and heavy aspects, but, I am sure I will watch it again and again in the future.
Thanks to everyone who made it happen, from the director, the amazing actors, the writers of the manhwa and web novel, and those working behind the scene.

The better the villain bigger the hero

I enjoyed it very much. The first six-eight episodes were nerve-racking, the FL were in such a vulnerable state that I was worried for her, I wanted her be safe and, win this battle.

The two villain really stole the show. Specially, Song ha yoon really deserve all the awards, she is terrific and, terrifying in the drama. If she does not get best supporting actress award then, it would be such a shame.

Lastly, Park min young done a great job as the lead, I think this was her best performance after a long time. She portrayed the vulnerability and, how the character gets strong slowly, she really put heart and soul in this character.

The drama is also very engaging from start to finish. Recommended.

The beginning of this drama was great. It was very engaging and together with the characters we discovered what had happened. I was curious what Ji Won had to do to change her life and how she would achieve it. However, around episode 10/11 it became predictable. I didn't have as much fun watching this drama as I did at the beginning. That's why I stopped watching it several times and then came back to it. But don't get me wrong, this drama is really good. With top actors, great OST and plot. After episode 11, there was simply an element missing that would completely absorb me.

I don't think Yura's appearance was a bad idea. It added to the plot and ultimately made sense.
