Love this BL

This BL drama made me fall in love with this genre. It is disappointing that OhmNanon will not be making more of this kind of show. Their chemistry was truly phemenonal. It balances the humor, melodramatic elements, and romance in a way few other BL dramas have been able to do. I have seen several dozen BLs since this one. I wish I weren't spoiled with how superb this show was because it shaped my expectations for other BL dramas/rom-coms.

Typical melodrama fantasy

Leads were the best thing about this show ... They are talent packed and glamourous what else can you ask for ... Plot (adapted from a hit novel) was very interesting in the beginning as she swallows the bead and he calls her to stay at her place ... But say after 8-9 episode it turns quite monotonous and boring ... The ending was okay but could have been much better

Overall the series is worth a single watch ..
Re-watch : I don't think I will watch it again

FL overacting spoilt a drama of great potential

Though the story has its own flaws but in my opinion the flaws can be ignored if the performing artists are convincing enough ...
I have seen the ML in back from the brink and honestly his performance as a support role was way better than this one as the main role ..though he tried to maintain the composure of a fox demon and conveyed his emotions of rage quite well but the romantic scene were a little off ...
As for FL, she was disaster .. very non spontaneous though her character is comic and it demands spontaneity yet she tried to cover her horrible performance with over acting which made it even worse ... For example whenever she acted the drunk her performance clearly wanna apart ...
Chemistry between the leads is totally off .. even this kissing scene didn't resonate the emotions ..for some reason I felt they were not comfortable together...

Story was bit slow ... Dynamics of twists were missing ..comedy punches were weak, performed by even weaker artist.

Re-watch value zero

One of my favourite dramas, the story in both seasons is good enough to make me remember it for a long time. Every actor from season 1 had much better performance on season 2 and i was surprised that i liked all of them. A really interesting drama something unusual i would say for me one to remember and stay on top of my watched dramas. Plenty of good things about drama starting with story, kinda sad about Mone-Do Hyuk ending it was bittersweet for me and it broke my heart, i really hope to see Lee Yu-Bi And Lee Yoon together again in another drama as they are one of my fav couples. Whole season was really good but i dont know what happend in last 2 episodes compared to the whole show, looks rushed af and i would give them like 6/10 didnt really enjoy them tbh mostly because of ending but if u gonna jump on this drama enjoy and have fun!

The actors were phenomenal!

This show wasn’t something I was going to watch till I recognized one of the actors and I decided to give it a try this show was beautiful in so many ways and the boys did an amazing job on their characters it felt all so real. I think the one thing about this show for me is that it was a bit hard to follow at times and I was confused about the order for a while, but once I had got over that it was still decently enjoyable. Last thing I wanted to say if they didn’t have the great actors they had the show wouldn’t have been as good.

=> Light and fun series, not memorable but enough good for having a good time.

Romance with age gap (intern ML/ confirmed designer), with a fairly realistic rendering of the fashion industry. There is also a BL's couple and a little Fantasy touch (ML with super power).

+++ The series is short (10 episodes), the pace is fast and the OSTs are well suited.
+++ A very cute CL, with intense interactions and great chemistry.
+++ The actors are cute, convincing.
+++ The story is more or less coherent (some twists and coincidences are a little too obvious, but it's not too much).

What an incredible messy but fun ride

If you've been in a an Australian/American queer group chat, you might get a little bit of a traumatic flashback while watching this series. I'm actually convinced the screenwriter just snuck into a queer gc and copied their drama as plot points.

First things first. This is messy but also a good representation of extremely liberal slash problematic queer friend groups. I'm convinced all of them should be in therapy and/or a polyamourous commune where they can just mess around with everyone. I just don't think monogamy works for some of these characters and that's fine!

Secondly, while I do agree that this is an accurate rep of the messy side of the queer community, it can be a triggering to see that many topics of cheating, emotional manipulation, privacy infringements, and violence in one drama. So please proceed with caution. It is good to get a rep of the messy aspect of being queer, but also there is mess in all communities really.

Thirdly, I love having a drama catered for nosy bitches like myself. I thoroughly enjoyed this although I do want to do the Gordon Ramsay's sandwich meme to some of these idiots. Make sure your blood pressure is controlled before watching this fr.

I still highly recommend watching this despite my above review.

100% Rewatch Worthy

I found this Kdrama back in 2018 and oh my god I am so glad I did! It was my first kdrama and since now it has always stuck with me and been my all time favourite no matter how many I’ve watched..

I literally have a yearly tradition where I rewatch my love from the star again and it seriously never gets old.
And trust me when I say this, I normally can never stand old kdramas and this is my only exception.

Yes it’s cringy at times, yes there might be small loopholes and things that literally cannot make sense but I honestly think the acting and story make up for this and how story is carried out
(The slight unrealistic/ cringy acting especially from the Fl becomes endearing after some time haha, also considering the style of kdramas back then it’s not so bad)
I found the background storyline somewhat boring at times but it doesn’t take away from the chemistry of the main two leads
You literally find yourself rooting for them later on.
I highly recommend it

They served......justice!

The story follows Detective Park Yeong Han, who's a total pro at nabbing cow thieves (≧▽≦)But now, he's been transferred to Jongnam Police Station, where he and his teammates gear up to tackle corruption along with other crimes occuring in the 60s.

So let me put it out straightforwardly to y'all: the story is, most of the time, ordinary, like nothing groundbreaking or unimaginable, but the way Unit 1 solves each case charms me up and keeps me intrigued. Watching the dynamics and the bond and friendship among the teammates feels genuine and real.

Each episode brings in a new crime, which our detectives solve. As I mentioned, it's pretty ordinary, so here's the twist: you usually spot the culprit early on in this drama, but the real puzzle is figuring out the tactics they'll use to reel them in because it is more like a socialist economy (as in the 60s) where everything is controlled within the government/police authorities, and it's not easy because they have the power unless there is some solid evidence ¯◡¯. One of the main storylines is corruption in the police department, so buckle up to watch some good for nothing cops ̄ヘ ̄

The actors and characters were so endearing to watch, but there are some annoying ones too. And how can we forget Lee Je Hoon?! Man never disappoints with his acting in the action genre; it's so fun to watch him: > Yeong Han and Sang Sun duo was the highlight for me. >>

The romance could've been more developed, I felt. It was subtle and cute nevertheless, but not a main focus.

One of the things I didn't like is how some characters were used as plot devices. It wasn't fast-paced, more like a laid-out story with a leisurely pace, so sometimes I skipped scenes.

Overall, the cases are not out of the box or overwhelming, but if you enjoy the bonding between the characters, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the show! And honestly it was pretty light hearted as a overall watch, the crimes weren't heinous compared to other crime dramas, with a sprinkle of humour!

Thank you for reading my review ^^

Side characters stole the show

This had to be said - this series would be a forgettable mess if it weren't for the side plots.

To be honest, the main plot is so unfocused which did not allow proper emotional investment from the viewers at all. Jim's running a chicken shop - and then there is the problem of his business not being profitable enough, his landlord wanting to sell the building, Wuen being a part of the project that wants to demolish the building, and then all the unresolved issues with their exes. None of these issues were properly fleshed out and discussed and their plot just feels so unfinished and messy which I did not appreciate. I just wished they had a more focused issue that they fully focus and not just handpick a bunch of drama cliches they could add as a conflict point.

HOWEVER, the silver lining of this movie is the excellent excellent side couples and characters. Gemini and Fourth is becoming two of my favourite emerging actors - they delivered a stellar and emotional performance as two youths trying to find their own paths in life, while also building each other up. Their struggles, emotions, and connection feels so raw and real which is so engaging to the viewers.

Another standout is Khaotung's performance as Gaipa. I might not always buy into his performances (especially where he plays the "bad boy") but he was absolutely excellent here. The emotion he managed to evoke out of me was insane - and not only once but he is just so consistently emotionally transparent which allows us to really sympathize with him. Khaotung as Gaipa and First as Alan is glorious and I wish we had more of them on the screen.

Lastly, the soundtrack is actually tear-jerking. The nostalgia of this song while also having the song played at the most pivotal emotional moment in the series really is a genius move because now I can't stop crying whenever I hear 月亮代表我的心. Not to mention I was obsessed with Teresa Teng as a child so this was an excellent song choice by them.

I have to give this a 7.5 overall because of how forgettable the main couple's plot is, but it's more of a writing problem than anything else. If the main couple were even half as engaging as the side couples, I would've given this an easy 8.5 at least.

Survival Thriller Show with Wes Anderson direction - Must Watch!

If you like narration as in Wes Anderson's film "The Budapest Hotel" and survival game dramas/movies that showcase human desperation like Squid Games, Alice in Borderland & The Platform - then you must watch this show. Worth the binge watch!

WHAT WORKS:
Everything in the show works -well the plot, pace, acting, thrill, class discrimination, human instinct to survive at all costs - all tied up with a good finish, and lovely easter egg in the end credit.

UNIQUE FACTOR: What sets it apart from the rest is the direction and narration which is typical of Wes Anderson movies (the changes in aspect ration, and narration by one character). Also, I liked how in few seconds during the show and end, they let us know the background of all characters & how they end up after the show. But the end credits do keep an opening for Season 2 - which in my mind was cute and brilliant.

WHAT DIDN'T WORK:
Not a con - but why this not a 10/10 is simply cause of the fact that we have seen such shows before, so it is not a eureka moment for me. And also, I did not 100% agree with the sacrifice made at the end, even if it fits with the story flow. Just my personal opinion and that is okay - as everyone will have different interpretations and thus, the ratings/likings.

OVERALL:
Highly recommend this show at least once - if you are someone who likes watching the choices humans make when you are given the chance to have it all! ❤️

SPECIAL MENTION:
While all characters were great in there element, possibly because I have a bias towards characters that seem intelligent/gray - I loved the role of Park Jeong Min (YU Phillip/Floor 7). This is the time I am watching him and what a delight! I am off to see more of his dramas now. And really admire the gutsy woman Lee Joo Young as Floor 2 contestant - really stood her ground, wish there were more kind people like her in real life.

This entire story is pointless. What was the point of it all if K is Matthew? It's not a story about revenge, it's just a psychopath messing with people's lives. Zero point in showing the girl at the beginning, then.
They were probably making good money off of sponsors so they changed the story to this in order to keep the show going.
That being said, at least the actors are amazing and the plot is fast paced and entertaining at some points, when u don't get too annoyed that its going nowhere.
