Okay, but major twists that make you wanna skip

The story is half good and half bad; however, the acting is fairly good for a mini drama. To be specific, It was great up until around episode 15, 16 (where the ML starts smoking cigar with opium in it) to basically 23. The FL character was written with one-dimensional thinking (has no brains at all). For instance, in one episode after the ML is addicted to opium, she tells her friend that such outcome (inability of the ML to serve as the commander) is what 'they' want.
Now, I assume anyone who speaks such statement would be wise enough to know who would benefit from the ML not having the capacity to be the commander (Obviously the previous deputy commander and the brother). But no when the SML comes with the ring, she assumes that her husband killed her 'brother'. Additionally, instead of asking did you kill my 'brother', she just asks the ML if the ring is his. I mean the ring could be his and used by the killer since it can be stolen etc. FL never thought that far, she is easily manipulated. I was hoping for a strong story but it disappointed around the ending episodes. Just my own thoughts.

IM SCARED TO WATCH

Okay as someone who read the webtoon, im a little scared to watch this because i had expectations. I loved the webtoon so if this is not good, i would be so disappointed.

All the reviews that i’ve read most of it are saying how this is a bad drama or not good enough drama. And im truly scared. I thought to myself how bad can it be so im gonna watch it and edit my reviews accordingly.

I thought the characters’ name was SUPER familiar. I loved Ah Jeong in the webtoon so i hope to love her in this drama but they should have casted a similar person who looks like the character. Not that im hating on the actress but Ah Jeong in the story was cuter.

Anyways wish me luck, will edit my reviews after i’ve finish watching

Haha predictable but entertaining

Man this is another run-of-the-mill rich family with typical rich family problems of siblings fighting over inheritance with the typical plot twists that are involved. This has the same formula except that it is still a very entertaining watch. We have a star studded cast led by Charmaine Sheh as the eldest grand daughter of the Yo family (or Qiu if you’re Mando) and we watch how her younger male cousin played by none other than Him Law trying to get in her way and usurp the title of hier. If you wanted to watch a drama to really hate Him Law then this is the perfect one to watch. He is a huge massive anus of a person and I spend most of my time watching the drama imagining him on fire. I am up to episode 20 so far.

Some of the plot reveals were so predictable and came about so rapidly that I found myself laughing at it all. The 2nd eldest son played by Gallen Lo has a great business sense but got into so much mischief in the past that it affected his wives (yes that’s correct, wives) and kids. Oh man, watch it to see what I mean. Let’s just say the 2nd wife has some loose lips.

In any case, I am enjoying how ridiculous everything in this drama is. As always, Raymond Lam is the coolest guy in the drama and has the best scenes. Can’t wait for the final episodes!

Good for a short lenght drama

This one is actually pretty good for a low budget short drama…

The pace was pretty quick, every episode ended interesting.
The way FL and ML got together felt good.. I liked FL was mature, independent, busy with her own thing… not living for the ML like others do…
She finds her fiancee with some other woman and immediately breaks up… not looking back… because she has a healthy self estime … bravo girl! Well done… and no matter how much the parents were pressuring her to go back… she said No.

There is a clear age gap… not too long maybe 3/4 years? But it is acknowledged and actually one of the reasons why there are criticised as couple…
In the beginning ML looked very young, but later a bit less.

ML was cute and funny
The cousin, was the perfect villain… snob and arrogant…. Hater just because he can.
The song was pretty nice but over used throughout the series…

Overall, its a nice series… with a bit of rushed items as every short length drama is… but if they take the story and make it a normal length show… it would definitely succeed.

KDramas Second Best Attempt At Comedy

Season 1
The drama did a great job in blending humor and heart, creating an enjoyable mix with a lively dynamic, for the most part. The comedy was sharp and varied, ranging from slapstick to witty banter, however, this didn't apply for every segment and joke. Some of these went on for too long or weren't interesting in the slightest, these were also more present in the 2nd half than the first one. Nonetheless, not only the drama had great humor but also had a progressing story that fit right in. The dynamic chemistry among the cast enhanced the comedic timing, while the well-paced storyline balanced these moments with memorable scenes. Speaking of dynamics, Doo Shik remained a sidekick and a third wheel in every situation and scene, he was never a lead and always the weakest link, even the actor himself. The drama should've wrote him better to fit the dynamic rather than having a wasted slot. Anyway, it's an enjoyable fun watch for what it had to offer. However, I highly advise against watching season 2.

Season 2
In comparison, season 2 was a complete utter failure in all regards, however, as a stand alone drama, it was a passable cheap inoffensive forgettable watch, for the most part. It failed miserably to capture the same magic that made the first season so endearing. The second season felt like a pale imitation, struggling to find its footing. One major issue was the lack of continuity in the cast, with many beloved characters and dynamics from the first season absent with no worthy replacements. This shift disrupted the chemistry and dynamic that were crucial to the show's initial charm. The new characters, while sometimes amusing, didn't bring the same level of depth, humor and relatability, resulting in a series of forced and often flat comedic moments. Speaking of comedy, the writing in season 2 leaned heavily on repetitive gags and clichéd scenarios, lacking the creativity and originality that kept the first season fresh and engaging. Not to mention its poor job in recycling some of the gags and scenarios, as well as most of the romances and its archetypes from season 1. Seriously shameful! The brief storylines were disjointed, and the emotional moments that once balanced the humor now came across as contrived and artificial. The romantic relationships, while they never were the main focus, were really stupid and tasteless. The pacing also suffered, with episodes dragging without the slightest engaging interplay of humor and character moments that previously defined the show. Second season tried to replicate the success of its predecessor but fell quite short, the charm, wit, and warmth that made the first season a hit were noticeably missing. I highly advise watching S1 and ignoring S2.

Disappointing…

It started so well… The plot, even though not super original, was well executed, the actors had good chemistry and I wanted to know how the story was going to unfold… That was for episodes 1-4. 😄

And then comes episode 5… The plot twist of Songjam arriving in the past was good, but why sooooo long ago? Now it’s just creepy. Cause why do you mean after 5 years in this world he waited another 20 years for baby Aksorn to grow up and stalked him the last few moment before « meeting » him. 👀

How did he not moved on, and how did Aksorn just accept a relationship with a 40+ years old when he just fell in love with a teenager the day before? 😩

The ending is rushed, and maybe is for the best because I didn’t want to see too much of this creepy relationship 🫢 No matter how young the actor looks like sorry that’s just not it 🙈

Stealer: He Steals Stuff

The drama should've been called Karma or Skunk, more appropriate than whatever this mouthful title is. Anyway, the drama was quite average, delivering a forgettable experience that was hard to get excited about. Despite the intriguing concept of treasure hunting, it quickly devolved into a series of predictable and uninspired scenes. The characters and their backstories were bland, making it difficult to care about what happens to them and round them. The dialogue was often stale and lacked the sharpness or humor that could have added some much needed zest. Speaking of humor, while the drama was structured as an action comedy but the latter often fell short on delivering good material, with barely a couple of memorable comedic moments at the end. On the other hand, the action was a constant juggling act between enjoyable performances and half-arsed imitations. The police force in this drama was as incompetent as every other drama involving police work, as expected. They went out of their way to shamefully show how bad the police force was and subsequently made Skunk step down to an equal level just to make the dynamic between the two work, forcefully. The drama had an idea to work with but it barely done anything worthy with it.

Butterfly eruption

I am just overwhelmed with how cute this show is. It’s exactly what I needed. Something kind, sweet and without unnecessary drama. I don’t remember last time I felt so many butterflies? I just keep watching Kang and Mo’s scenes over and over again and the kiss in the last episode? So sweet. I giggled like a little girl. I hope the tune of the show will stay the same. I think it’s necessary to have a show that are just kind to you and that these type of shows can heal you a little bit if you are having a hard time.

Its good...defently not Bad...how others said

The series is great. I have no idea why the rating is so bad. But it was and is definitely exciting! From the first to the last episode I stayed attentive...which not every series can do. It doesn't get boring at some point in the second half either. Unfortunately, if you don't watch most of it carefully or skip a lot of it, you won't notice how good the story is and how authentically the friendships are portrayed. You also don't notice how particularly harmonious the chemistry between the actors is. There is an incredible amount of sensitivity and emotionality in this series. It's shocking that some people obviously didn't understand that. I can't explain the bad rating any other way. The series is a great drama.

For anyone who doesn't speak German, I put the text into Google Translator (if there are any grammatical errors, please blame Google)

Wonderful cinematography but predictable

There will be minor spoilers, but I wouldn't watch this film again tldr;
I loved the way it was filmed, I like the director and his other movies, the acting was great and I enjoyed chemistry and it's not.. a bad film. But the story and this man cheating on his wife the entire time left the most awful taste in my mouth and it took away from the movie for me personally. A predictable ending and the 'second act' felt tiresome.

If you want to watch this because of the director I think you'll enjoy the film in that way and less so for the story or plot. The filming locations, the slow way of pace and movement, The Mist song coming on over and over. Actors are enjoyable I think this would have scored higher had it been not for the whole cheating story point which a lot of movies and dramas have done before, and for me personally cheating is a HUGE irritation for me. Emotional counts, lack of communication, and maybe you're supposed to dislike the main lead and thats also the point. But it made it a grind to watch for us (myself and my partner) I really thought there was going to be more... suspense and crime and this movie is not that. Its not even a big mystery because its been done before so you catch on fairly quickly and then the second portion feels dragged on because its a repeat in a way of what happened the first time. The ending was... an ending. We looked at each other and sighed, not because of her choices but this man is tiresome haha. Had he simply not been married and been cheating I think the way this movie would have come across so differently and being able to really get into the chemistry of the main leads, but alas.
Overall when it wasn't the ML's unwise choices with FL it was an okay movie. If cheating bothers you like us then I would recommend skipping it. Felt like something from some eras ago, the cooking scene with them where she's smoking, them out in the rain visiting the temples, mesmerizing. I dont even wanna talk about the snow scene near the end, it did not draw us in in anyway apologies xD Beautiful filming spots along the water. I'll look forward to more from this director in the future

Could have been better with more episodes

First of all: this drama had a great premise, however, it ended up sounding superficial - to me - due to the lack of space for development.

Although I didn't like FL's relationship with her first love, I still think that their story is much more solid and has many more elements than the FL's romance with the CEO. In fact, the boss is much more mature and interesting, while Yu Jian is a mama's boy who wants his girlfriend to drop everything for him. It is for this reason that, despite everything I will mention in this review, I did not supported Yu Jian at any time.

Speaking of the FL, since the series is about her, I think that, despite being very independent and ambitious, she can also be immature - I still can't accept how she acted towards the CEO's daughter - and dependent. That's why I thought it was really good when Xue Yu Ming left for Singapore. This helped her becoming more mature and make a solid foundation for herself.

Talking about Xue Yu Ming, he is a at least, sane, character indeed, but he also didn't know how to communicate and sounded manipulative to me. Anyone who says that he didn't take advantage of the FL's moment of fragility - the breakup - to seduce her, will be lying!

And speaking of Xue Yu Ming and Xia Guo's relationship, the chemistry was is undeniable between the actors - chemistry, this, which doesn't exist with the other male protagonist - but their story didn't convince me. It was all too fast, too superficial and extremely based on their work. Even the dialogues were about work. At least we had good kisses. lol .

That's why more episodes would be needed to reach the level of depth that the first couple had - which, in fact, doesn't necessarily mean that the two were good together, just that they had more history.

Finally, I found the drama touching in several ways. I felt bad about what Guo Guo went through on the first path; and I don't think Yu Jian deserved her. In my opinion, they both wanted different things and did not want to abandon their own lives; They loved each other indeed, but not enough.

Hit or miss

Not a bad adaptation, less erratic than the anime in pace and tone, but still a bit of a flop for me

First 40ish minutes are very slow paced, although once it picks up it stays quite stable thruout the movie, but this improvement feels a bit of a too little too late situation

Casting especially was a hit or miss for me, some characters are cast to perfection, big bad Tokushiro, the hilarious Yoshitake, and psychotic twins Yohei and Kohei were the stand outs of this movie, i howevere wasn't so convinced about the two leads...
Sugimoto and Asirpa had near zero chemistry on screen, resulting in their scenes together coming off as quite lifeless.
Sugimoto does get a lot more animated when interacting with other characters though.
Asirpa on the other hand... unfortunately it seems her role is cursed for me, as i wasn't a fan of neither her live action nor her anime portrayal

On a more positive note, the action scenes are a feast for the eyes with their breathtaking fight choreography

And of course Retar is always adorable :3

Magical Kdrama

Sound of magic was an fantsay genre and it was my first Korean fantasy with magic. Brillisnt acting, beautiful songs and the setting was gorgeous. one flaw wsd the profanities in the final episode. Had it been without it, it could have been an all age entertainment. Ji Chan Wook stoke the spotlight.

How do you make the world wonderful?

At first I picked this up because I wanted a revenge story, one where the bad guys get their just desserts and the good guys win. But here goes "Wonderful World", flipping the script on its head and making it so much more compelling than I first thought. I was watching this series with bated breath, expecting a glorious downfall and for the villain to get their sweet sweet comeuppance.

But this story is much more than revenge. Its main focus is actually healing and love. After so many episodes where we see how this world is ugly and cruel, we also get to see the beauty, the sincerity and the care that other people put in the world. And I think that showcasing these two realities that coexist is very important, since it is quite easy to get swept up into either one of them and forget about the other.

Regarding the acting, I will have to say that I loved Cha Eun Woo in this so much! I think he was really shining in this role, and while I do plan to watch the other dramas with him, I really hope he gets more roles like this. I don't know how he is in romantic comedies, but I really liked this type of role on him and I hope he'll get more like these.

Kim Nam Joo was also amazing, I literally fell in love with her subtle, yet deeply moving acting. When she cried, I cried tenfold, and I really was able to empathize with her character so much.

I hope other people will get to watch this as well!~
